What's new

Turkish Naval Programs

Still even if Turkish comes up with its Destroyer with 64 VLS with 32 each for Land Attack Cruise missiles and 32 for Air Defence it would be great. Air Defence ones can be with quad.

TF-2000 class Destroyer with 64 cell MILDAS VLS for 112 missiles

-- 64 HISAR-RF SAMs ( 35-50 km )
-- 32 SIPER block-II SAMs ( 150 km )
-- 16 GEZGIN strategic Cruise Missiles ( 1.000 km )

and 16 ATMACA anti-ship Missiles ( 250 km ) ... 6 Torpedos
450 km CAFRAD naval AESA Radar

British Type-45 class Destroyer with 48 cell SYLVER VLS

48 Aster-15/Aster-30 SAMs ( 35-120 km )
and 8 HARPOON anti-ship Missiles ( 140 km ) ... 6 Torpedos
400 km SAMPSON naval AESA Radar

French HORIZON class Destroyer with 48 cell SYLVER VLS

48 Aster-15/Aster-30 SAM ( 35-120 km )
and 8 EXOCET anti-ship Missiles ( 200+ km ) ... 6 Torpedos
400 km S1850M naval AESA Radar

TCG Akhisar (P-1220) Offshore Patrol Vessel under construction

The first Ship is scheduled to be launched in 2023

  • Overall length: 99,56 meters
  • Maximum speed: 24 knots
  • Displacement: 2300 tons
  • Range : 4500 nautical miles

CENK-S AESA Radar
-- 76 mm Gun
-- L-UMTAS Missiles
-- 8 x HISAR-O Air Defense Missiles
-- 8 x ATMACA Anti-Ship Missiles
-- 1 x GOKDENIZ 35mm CIWS

The primary missions of the OPVs to protect the sovereignty rights within the scope of national and international law in low-risk Exclusive Economic Zone and open sea areas

10 HISAR class OPVs will protect Turkish EEZ in the Eastern Mediterranean

OPV should free up the larger vessels for serious far away operations

OPV should free up the larger vessels for serious far away operations

4 GABYA , 4 MEKO-200TN and 4 ISTIF class Frigates will be free for serious far away operations including in Libya and to escort TCG ANADOLU

Nobody can enter Turkish EEZ ...

-- Also there will be 4 ADA class Corvettes and 10 new FACs

HISAR class OPV is one of the most heavily armed OPVs in the World

Its almost like light Frigate and 10 OPVs will have enough fire power to protect Turkish EEZ and Turkish research - drilling Ships

in near future , 21 x LEVENT Close Air Defense System will increase defense capability of HISAR class OPVs

It was seen that LEVENT Missile has both the seeker head and 4 antennas that allow to obtain the RF broadcasts of the target. American RAM Missile has 2 antennas

LEVENT is based on SUNGUR Missile

Now that as impressive

they just took a MBT loaded it into a Landing craft the craft swam to the LHD well deck the tank rolled off did a 360 degree and loaded back into the craft via the ramp

the craft then sailed out of the well deck and back to shore

basically demonstrating that MBT can be transported by LHD to a beech far away and LHD is not even commissioned yet

now imagine the same thing with a Hovercraft LCAC

Altay MBT landing tests were carried out with combat weight. That includes ammunition, fuel, additional armors and some basic combat engineering/spare parts weights. Average 65 tons. Full operational testing of an MBT of this weight in an LHD of this class is probably the first.

Still, our expectation is that an armored project focused on landing operations will start right after the Altay project.

now imagine the same thing with a Hovercraft LCAC
The LCAC project has been in planning phase for over 10 years. But for some reason it still could not start.

Day dreamer Greeks ... Turkiye is not İraq or Syria or Libya or Mali

We have seen French,Italian,İsraeli,Greek Ships which were kicked by the Turkish Navy out of the Turkish-and Turkish Cypriot EEZ

Yes Nobody can enter Turkish-and Turkish Cypriot EEZ for drilling ....

even No need Warships , 250-280 km Turkish SOM air launched and ATMACA land based anti-ship Missiles will be enough to hit Ships which enter Turkish and Turkish Cypriot EEZ

Nobody! Not even USA,Russia,China.

Hisar class OPV will be very special ship for anti submarine warfare, its electric engine make her more client and make detection by subs is hard,so reduced own noise also make her sonar performance better, she also will have aselsan/armelsan LFAS low frequency sonar system to detect subs.4 hisar class with multistatik sonar systems and with the collabaration of aksungur MPA with pasif sonobuoy delivery from air will be enough to stay away enemy subs

LCAC programmes are nothing short of space programs them and fixed wing naval AWACS from carrier decks two of the hardest engineering challenges for any nation

just look at how much trouble China had with the Type 726 LCAC after 15 years we finally seen it carry a loaded deck into a LPD/LHD, the engine and thrust direction issues took decades to solve and I believe wasn't until the Chinese Space Agency got involved did they finally start serial production of the LCAC

for Turkey maybe better to buy from US
