Turkey's defense systems producer Aselsan signed a deal with U.S. electronics manufacturer Honeywell to work together on avionics systems for military and civilian aircraft
ANKARA

U.S. electronic systems manufacturer Honeywell announced on Friday that it had signed an agreement with Turkey's Aselsan to collaborate in the area of avionics systems for aircraft.

The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding designed to create the framework for future collaboration on avionics systems for military and civilian aircraft, Honeywell said in a statement.

The two companies also intend to enlarge their cooperation to other areas in which collaboration may be fruitful, the statement said.

Turkey’s defense exports in 2014 increased by 19 percent, hitting $1.65 billion, compared with $1.4 billion in 2013, according to figures from the Turkish Exporters’ Assembly.

When the indigenous Kale 3500 Turbojet Engine is ready we have a Range up to 500 KM, this cover whole Greece ! SOM-ER with Turbofan Engine will archieve a Range up to 800 KM, by these Ranges Turaf should think about launching these Missiles from Transport Aircraft like A-400M !

Do you have any knowledge on when 2500km missile tests would be ready to be held?

No I don't know, but I expect the Test later than the Variant with 1500 KM Range and in a Time when Kale Turbofan Engine will be Ready !

Aselsan, Thales continue LMM launcher development

  • Aselsan and Thales have signed a further agreement for joint development of shipborne launcher systems for the Thales Lightweight Multirole Missile (LMM)
  • The agreement covers continued development of four- and eight-round LMM Missile Launching System variants
Aselsan and Thales UK's Land & Air Systems business have signed a further agreement to advance the joint development of shipborne launcher systems for Thales' Lightweight Multirole Missile (LMM) low-collateral precision weapon.

The two companies reaffirmed their partnership in a signing ceremony at the IDEX 2015 exhibition in Abu Dhabi on 22 February. The new agreement covers continued development of both a lightweight four-round LMM Missile Launching System and a larger eight-cell LMM Missile Launching System variant.

The cooperation between the two companies was established in 2010, with first-stage firings completed in 2014. The latest agreement covers further firing demonstrations - initially in the maritime domain - and allows for further cooperation in other market areas.

LMM has been designed by Thales as a low-cost, laser-guided missile able to engage a wide range of air, land, and sea targets out to ranges of about 8 km. The initial production variant uses laser beam-riding guidance.

In the maritime role, Thales sees LMM as being well-matched to counter small fast inshore attack craft (FIAC) threats. The missile's laser proximity fuze, using low-cost gate technology set at the point of launch, is designed to ensure that the missile can successfully engage very-low metal, semi-solid targets, such as rigid hull inflatable boats, which many rockets pass through before detonating, while the 3 kg blast fragmentation/shaped charge warhead has been designed to combine localised effect with good penetration. LMM development testing has already demonstrated the accuracy of laserí beam-riding guidance against FIACí-type targets at ranges out to 4 km, and in conditions up to Sea State 6.

Warhead arena trials have demonstrated a 5 m radius kill zone. A successful static warhead trial has also been completed against a representative FIAC deckhouse structure.

LMM is now in qualification and entering production to meet the UK's Future Anti-Surface Guided Weapon (Light) requirement, latterly given the programme name Martlet. In this application, the LMM missile will be air-launched from the Royal Navy's new AgustaWestland Wildcat HMA.2 helicopter.

To address surface-to surface applications for LMM in the maritime market, Aselsan and Thales have been working on the joint development of the two LMM Missile Launching System variants. The smaller four-round system, designed to give fast interceptor craft increased punch, combines a two-axis gyro-stabilised turret accommodating four ready-to-launch LMM missiles, an off-mount stabilised electro-optical (EO) director (incorporating a laser transmitter unit to support LMM laser beam-riding guidance) and a bridge-mounted control and display unit.

This configuration has been engineered to have minimum impact on speed and manoeuvrability of the host platform.

Aselsan has also developed a larger eight-round launching system, incorporating two four-cell LMM panniers and an on-mount EO package. This is intended for larger craft where space and weight constraints are less onerous.

Engineering development models of both launcher variants have been built by Aselsan, with a first-stage LMM launch proving trial performed during 2014. In addition, Aselsan and Thales last year performed tracking trials in the Istanbul area to prove out the stabilisation and tracking performance of the EO sensor suite.

Maybe Roketsan wants to get technology from Ukraine on air defence systems or other missiles , Ukraine doesn't have money so this is the only thing I can think of. It could also just be talk.

A german Source says that Ukraine want to develop LORAMIDS. Poroschenkos First Visit at IDEX 2015 was Roketsan.
Poroschenko ließ sich in Abu Dhabi vor dem Stand des türkischen Raketenbauers Roketsan blicken. Laut Quellen zeigte er dabei Interesse an einer gemeinsamen Entwicklung von Flugabwehrsystemen.

Its not a secret that Ukraine has ,,special abilities" in the Missle section. Many engineers worked for UDSSR . China, Iran and other countries tried to get ToT. We are talking of abilities to build a SS-18 Satan.

A delievery of TR-300 to Ukraine could probably harm Relations with Russia !

We don't need ukrain for our Loramids project, the rocket engine is no problem. Our isseu is radar and software of missile, the trajectory and balistics. And other electonic things, so this news have no valeu ore we are working for ICMB.
