What's new

Turkish Missile Programs

IMO Turkey should have acquired some of the first version of F35A like Israel instead of waiting. Gaining experience flying and researching option of what we can do is quite important. We could have even tested it out against the S300 and SAM systems some of our neighbours have. Now we have to wait until it's our turn, and hopefully the political climate doesn't become so bad that US won't deliver them. That's what I'm fearing.

What about the parts that made by Turkey for the F-35? Turkey is not the only country in the queue..

Turkey should of given first as its a co developer with the US but as you can see Israel joined at the end and got the first..

According to İ. Sunnetçi, The new turbojet engine will be around TR-50+ standarts in terms of performance and power up SOM-Er and Gezgin missiles.

Good point, but I seem to recall that we didn't order until much later. If this article is correct then I think we ordered F35 after Israel had already ordered.

Perhaps someone has a more accurate date than what I could google :P

I'm no expert but I think the orders were delayed because we tried but failed to get some sort of access to integrate our own weapons or something?

Do you think with the new turkish engine , SOM can achive 500km range ?

Lets make a math about the new engine, if asuming it have a speed of 850km/h, and it burns 40 min. first we are changing km/h to ms. So thats 231 m/s rounded. In one min 60s*231ms=13.860 km. So 13.860*40min=554km.

Yes ther will be range of 500km.

Im sorry but you are so dumb..
if it flies 850km/h
To find how far it goes within 40 mins, you just divide 850 to 3 and multiple 2
850:3*2=566km

On the orher hand, the new engine might stand to go further, they just use less quality product to make it cheap to produce as it will be used only once.

Aselsan displays its Anti-Tank Missile launching system at GDA 2017

The Aselsan Anti-Tank Missile Launching System is a versatile defensive and offensive weapon system that provides high effectivity against ground targets in day/night and adverse weather conditions thanks to its computer controlled fire control subsystem designed to limit the operator’s task. It is a remotely controlled and stabilized Weapon Platform carrying 4 Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (HELLFIRE, JAVELIN, KORNET-E, OMTAS, SHERSHEN etc.). The Weapon Platform can be customized in order to carry the amount of missiles required by the customer. Alongside with 4 Anti-Tank Guided missiles, the System can be configured to carry 25mm automatic cannon, 12.7 or 7.62 mm machine gun for self protection.

The System is light weight, low volume and suitable for integration with a variety of existing or new armored high mobility fighting vehicles, considerably upgrading their lethality (e.g. Nurol Makina NMS, Otokar Cobra II,...) . It allows the system to be operated from inside the vehicle with a high degree of precision to protect the gunner and/or commander from being exposed.
