If Turkey were to be building ballistic missiles for reasons other than tactical use, we would have seen larger ballistic missiles years ago. Instead we see increased funding for Cruise Missiles, Guided Rockets, "long range rockets" according to you to me however it is a SRBM and development of something that is actually far more useful technologically and scientifically a Space Launch Vehicle. Turkey into Space, da.
Iran does not have a capable Air force, so their only deterrence lies in ballistic missiles. I would not like to see such a handicapped Turkiye.
I'd rather see hundreds of land launched cruise missiles with 500kg warheads that are able to destroy strategic assets with pinpoint accuracy, then to decimate half a town and the nearby countryside. If you want to decimate an entire town, there are easier ways of going about it then to launch hundreds of ballistic missiles at it and then hope for the best - destroying half a town does not win wars. Destroying infrastructure, machining shops, sanitation, gas lines, electrical grids etc, etc.. wins wars, having the ability to do that is enough of a deterrence. If country is in a pickle, then go nuclear or go ham.
Ballistic missiles without a Nuclear Warhead is not a good deterrence, it is a necessity, for Iran and not Turkey.
@cabatli_53 Bro, I'm posting this here before it gets lost in the IDEF'17 thread. Aselsan's SDB
