The Golden Horn (Keras) forms a deep natural harbor for the peninsula it encloses together with the Sea of Marmara. The Byzantine Empire had its naval headquarters there, and walls were built along the shoreline to protect the city of Constantinople from naval attacks. At the entrance to the Horn on the northern side, a large chain was pulled across from Constantinople to the old Tower of Galata to prevent unwanted ships from entering.

There was much more to visit but after 3 hours we could only see half of the exhibit so we had to leave hithout seeing all, i would definitely go again to see what i missed, i would recommend it if you are in Istanbul and have time, its only 10 min footway from Taksim Square.

PS: the pictures are from my Phone thats why some of them arent that good, espacially in darker rooms and the weather was rainy too.

Its so obvious they used Osprey illustations as source at least they didn't completely made things up, its something too. I don't know what was the point though, doubt this was the idea of Tayyip, I don't think he gives a sh.t about pre-Islamic Turkic states, or anyone other then Ottomans.


Anyway I was researching the Ottoman army at early 1800s late 1700s, its so pathetic, no wonder everybody was slapping us, entire army was like a mass of Başıbozuks.

Some of them have iranian armour, overall costume quality sucks aswell but it was a good try. Other countries have their traditional uniforms so there is no reason turkey shouldn't. All we need now is Janissaries guarding the new palace.

I thought it was one time thing. If he is going to make this a regular thing with a state visit. We will be laughing stock of the world even janissary is problematic. They were basically slaves and corrupted the empire. Bringing them back would be sickening.
