It is common knowledge that ISIS is indeed an extremist Salafi movement. They share many traits if not all. We have some Salafi mosques in The Netherlands where youth were brainwashed and travelled to Syria for fighting. You do know where they receive their funding from?

Obama and his red lines made sure that ideology got its ''followers'' in Iraq and Syria because of the lack of choice.
What else could the Sunni's(yes sectarian) but to join the only group able to fight Assad and the exclusive government in Iraq?

Exactly my point. I'm not going to judge an entire movement since its conception, but the people who are currently using this brand to further their goals in Syria and Iraq are obviously no sweethearts. No good advertisement for Salafism.

This is why i have long tuned out... there is no semblance of truth or facts left.

The conflict has become very complex. What started out as a failure in Iraq spread like a virus throughout the region and beyond. It is not so much about the occupation of one single country anymore. Other countries have now also become embroiled with their territorial and security interests as stake. It is extremely messy. You are very right about the credibility of information. There is indeed no semblance of truth or facts left. Each side has its narrative. We however do know where it all began and who is to be blamed for letting this mess get out of control.
