Why doesn't Turkey exercise the option of buying out the intellectual property rights of an existing engine like we did with the Firtina (S. Korea) or the T-129 (Italy)? Afterall, an engine is just a commercial product, isn't it? It doesn't have to be the cutting edge so long as it satisfies basic requirements like HP, fuel type, maintenance, etc. Some 90s, 80s or even 70s designs might work very well. There's no need to reinvent the wheel.

Yes. This multifuel engine could be more powerful than the offered German MTU - Diesel.
I guess, it could be capable also for later Electromagnetic GUN option.
At the top of the power spectrum is Perkins Condor V-12 which is installed in the Challenger MBT in a 880 kW form but has been demonstrated at 1100 kW
and is said to have the potential for development up to 1470 kW. ( 2000 HP)
This proven technology positions Perkins well to adopt a "power pack approach", matching engines and transmission.

C4 claims we'll get LICENCE, that means no TOT. But we can copy and gather experience.
