Is Turkey working on ship/naval engines as well for its frigates and destroyers etc?
Actually naval diesel engines are just the bigger version of Tank engines. Once Turkey develop the tank engines, it will basically also be able to produce the frigate or corvette diesel engines..

BMC Owner etem sancak also said they are working on 5000 hp naval engines

5000 hp is tooooooo weak for any small size ship, let alone a big one.

Correct me if I am wrong?

A ship will use 3-4 engine so 20.000 hp is not weak

If you compare it with for example the Arleigh Burke class Destroyer which has over 100.000 HP with 4x26.000 HP engines it's weak.

But as far as I know those 26.000 hp engines are turbofan engines. But what I'm saying is diesel engines

I think it's ok for the beginning. It is enough for Corvett ss an smaller vessels. Milgem Corvett s have two MTU 16V 595 TE90 diesel engines. Each of these engines has a power of 4,320 kW. Engines with bigger size are easier to build.
