Agricultural Planes

ZİU / Agricultural Spraying Aircraft - TAI

It's an absolute project. The project started in 1997 and abandoned in 2000 that after the first flight of the plane.

Why it is important that could be evaluated to be the first education aircraft

Mavi Işık / Agricultural Spraying Aircraft - 2.HİBM

It had flown in 1979 but the project abandoned in 1981. It was the first domestic design agricultural spraying aircraft.

Airbus A400M - Airbus Military

TAI is one of the participants of A400M project and TAI had designed some components.

TAI is one of the participants of the F-35 project who is the only producer of Central Body part of plane except for the USA.

HD-19 / Hava Dolmuşu - TAI

It was a conceptual project from 1994-1997 that would carry 19 passengers and it has double turboprop engines.

It had planned to be a modernised version of Dornier 328 and Dornier-628. The project cancelled silently.

TAYSU / Spraying Aircraft - THK

It was another agricultural spraying plane project from 1997-1999. It was the licensed version of Norman NAC-6 Fieldmaster 34. The project cancelled.

TG-X1 Yarasa - TAI/Sadler Aircraft

It was a licensed version of A-22 Piranha by Sadler Aircraft. It flew in 1997 and cancelled a few years later.

Historical Notes

THK-16 / MKEK-3 Mehmetçik

It designed in 1950 by High Engineer Selahattin Beler. It was planned to become an education jet plane. It could use a double TurbomecaPimene engine. Project cancelled in 1952. It was the first jet engine project of Turkey.

THK-15 / MKEK-4 Uğur

60 planes were produced between 1955-1957 by THK/MKEK. It is the first domestic design and serial product aircraft of Turkey.

THK-5 / THK-5A - Ambulance Plane

The THK-5 was developed as an air ambulance in 1945. 10 were produced and one was sold to Denmark. It is the first aircraft export success of the Turkish Domestic aviation history.

It was an active project between 1973-1977. MB399 has won the project but the project is cancelled.

Adventure of Pinto

Super Pinto has offered for Turkey in the 1970s by Gökhan Gündüz Sipahi who was the agent/representative of Super Pinto company. Nobody listened to him. It was the first Turkish private sector adventure to produce a jet plane.

TC-111 Project

It is another project from the mid-1970s. The unfinished prototype of the plane is still on display at the Berlin Technical Museum. Passenger, Discovery, Service, Intelligence models were planned. (Orko_8)

License product of Agusta, F 35, A 400 ? Please provide some sources, and also, others cannot understand Turkish. Share translation

Temel Kotil (TAI CEO) said that regional passenger jet is in the planning, and that Korean KAI approached TAI to develop it together, but Temel Kotil said that he didn't have any engineers, all the engineers are occupied with the TFX project and will be tied for another 4 years (he initial design stage for TFX is 5 years). He said that Korean KAI finished the initial 5 year design stage for their fighter jet KFX, so they are moving on to their own regional passenger plane project.

TAI works on two different design: Double Engine version and single engine version.

The mock-up was single engine. So I think TAI has decided to go with the single engine version of Hurkus.

This project is silent, and everyone thinks it is cancelled (I didn't have high hopes either). But it seems this project is still alive. This interview with Eren Ozmen (from SNC) is from a couple of days ago, and here she says TRJet is still alive:

"TR JET YOLDA!

- TRJet projesini biraz anlatır mısınız? Proje şu anda ne aşamada?
- Bizi heyecanlandıran bir proje TRJet. Bu projede Türkiye'nin ilk sivil hava aracını üretme hayali bizi mutlu ediyor. Proje Türk ekonomisini güçlendirmek ve Türk gençliğine ilham vermek için küresel bir yatırımı simgeliyor. Hâlâ geliştirilme aşamasında olan projeyle ilgili Savunma Sanayii Müsteşarı İsmail Demir, son olarak Savunma Sanayii İcra Komitesi'nde değerlendirmelerin sürdüğünü belirtti. Bölgesel uçaklar için uluslararası piyasada ciddi bir ihtiyaç söz konusu. Daha önce onaylanmış Dornier 328 uçağını modernize ederek ve daha sonrasında da bu uçağın mevcut müşteri portföyüne odaklanarak Türkiye'nin uzun zamandır hayal ettiği yolcu uçağı üretme hedefine ulaşabileceğine inanıyoruz. Türkiye'de çok sayıda havalimanı var ancak küçük şehirler arasında yeteri kadar direkt uçuş bulunmuyor. Bölgesel uçaklar kısa süreli uçuşlar için çok elverişli araçlardır. Hâlâ bu projenin Türkiye için en başarılı proje olduğuna ve bu model ile Türkiye'nin ilk yolcu uçağının maliyetlerini ve süresini yarı yarıya indireceğine inanıyoruz."
