Meeting of strategic interest between Pak and Turkey.

Commander of Turkish Armed Forces, General Hulusi Akar, who is on official visit to Pakistan in connection with the 13th ECO Summit, Wednesday called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, General Zubair Mahmood Hayat here in Rawalpindi, the Inter Services Public Relations said.

The meeting was held at the Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi, at which matters of mutual interest with emphasis on geo-strategic situation and security challenges came under discussion, according to an ISPR statement.

The two senior officials reaffirmed the resolve to further enhance cooperation between the two armed forces, it read.

"The Turkish commander applauded professionalism of the Pakistani armed forces and acknowledged the sacrifices rendered by Pakistan in fight against terrorism," the ISPR said.

No word on any Defense deal about Milgem or T-129 ...

This is the last we (from official sources) know about these programs:

T-129: Turkey is awaiting Pakistan to begin technical negotiations, which will determine the number, configuration and cost of the program. Turkish Aerospace Industries (TAI)'s CEO is confident about a sale, saying it would happen "in months", but I think that's optimistic given to what the Turkish Gov't and TAI said at IDEAS.

MILGEM: They've broadly agreed to terms and cost, but now technical work will take place to determine subsystems. A final quote will be given to Pakistan, and Pakistan will decide (yes OR no) after July of this year.

Unless it is from an official source, anything different to what's written here should be taken with a grain of salt.

Now, the entire government is very busy with Apr 16 referendum to switch to the presidential system. This is revolutionary and hopefully the final step toward the full removal of tutelage with proxies (the system the West put to check Turkey). After that Insha'Allah many new projects will show up..
