Turkmenistan, Turkey to discuss prospects for developing intergovernmental dialogue

Turkmenistan and Turkey will discuss prospects for developing the intergovernmental dialogue as part of the Turkish President Abdullah Gul's working visit to Ashgabat on Saturday.

Gul's visit will take place at the Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's invitation to the Turkmen Racing Horse Festival, which is held on last Sunday of April each year, Turkmen government said on April 26.

"The visit of the head of a friendly state, during which the parties will also exchange views on the state and development prospects of multifaceted intergovernmental dialogue, is meant to give another impetus to constructive Turkmen-Turkish cooperation," according to the Turkmen government's message.

Turkmen government also said this cooperation successfully developing on bilateral and multilateral bases, primarily in the format of major international organizations and reputable regional structures.

Turkey is one of the largest trade partners of Turkmenistan.

Over 600 Turkish companies are operating in the Turkmen market. They are involved in power generation, oil and gas industries, construction, transportation, communication, textile and agricultural industries.

Turkmenistan ranks fourth in the world in terms of natural gas reserves and the country exports its natural gas to markets in China, CIS countries and Iran.

The possibility of constructing gas pipelines from Turkmenistan to the markets of South Asia and Europe is also being studied.

Turkmenistan's resources can be delivered to the European markets through the Caspian Sea by constructing a 300-kilometer long pipeline along the sea bottom to the coast of Azerbaijan.

Afterwards the Turkmen fuel can be sent to Turkey which has a common border with European countries.

Kazakhstan’s trade turnover with Turkic-speaking countries hits $7.5 billion

Kazakhstan's trade turnover with Turkic speaking countries has hit $7.5 billion, chairman of the Majlis (the parliament's lower house) committee for international affairs, defense and security, Maulen Ashimbayev said on April 28 in Astana.

'We have great potential and we believe that our cooperation will be actively developed in the future," Ashimbayev said while speaking at the third meeting of the Commission on Legal Affairs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic-Speaking Countries (TurkPA).

Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan are fraternal countries for Kazakhstan, he said.

"The parliaments of our countries also make great contribution to the development of relations between the Turkic-speaking countries. We attach great importance to the further development of TurkPA and cooperation with the Turkic-speaking countries," Ashimbayev said.

Delegations from TurkPA member states, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey took part in the commission's work.

In the long term we need to create a corridor between turkey and azerbaijan other wise any of our goals in central asia will just always be dreams.

The red area is roughly what we need. (Atleast)

So far Georgia has been of good use...
Maybe we can negotiate with armenians, a shared territory between Nahcivan and Azerbaijan...
After they also give up claims on Karabagh

I don't even know how they even allowed to take that little strip in the past, this little piece of land costs us dearly.

It was gifted to Armenian SSR by the leadership of Azerbaijani SSR as a "symbol of friendship", can you imagine how fcked up a joke that is? Of course, it rather should be read like "gifted to Armenian SSR by Bolsheviks to divide the Turkic world".
