Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan has spoken by phone with the leaders of Qatar, Russia, Kuwait and Saudi Arabia on lowering tension, presidential sources said, after Arab powers cut ties with Qatar, accusing it of supporting militant groups.

"The importance of regional peace and stability was underlined in the talks, as well as the importance of focusing on the path of diplomacy and dialogue to lower the current tension," the sources said in a statement.

Trump takes sides in Arab rift, suggests support for isolation of Qatar

Saudi Arabia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain severed their ties with Qatar on Monday, opening up the worst rift in years among some of the most powerful states in the Arab world.

Turkey has good relations with Qatar as well as several of its Gulf Arab neighbours and Deputy Prime Minister Numan Kurtulmus told reporters after a cabinet meeting on Monday that Ankara wanted to help resolve the dispute.

Kuwaiti emir leaves Saudi after brief visit, no word on outcome of talks

After the talks between Erdogan and Russian President Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin said late on Monday they called for dialogue and compromise.

Erdogan also spoke with Saudi Arabia's King Salman and the emirs of Qatar and Kuwait. The sources said Erdogan would continue his contacts on the issue.

Good move by Erdogan. Saudi needs a take over. I promise you once the West are done and it serves it's purpose- it will be turned on. So it is better it maintains good relations with its own people.

it is not about Qatar funding some terrorist group, its a game that none of us see it.
1) Qatar passively was against the US-Saudi weapons deal
2) Qatar may have reported the leak of emails and its contents about the UAE ambassador plotting with Israeli think tank against Iran, this was not taken nicely by the accused, hence retaliation.
3) This is also to disrupt the most awaiting Qatar 2022 plans which includes hosting FIFA

Not that anyone is innocent here, but again 'fighting terrorism' is again being used as a facade to disrupt another nations peace an stability. I have no sympathy with any one, if this means war. Then, Please stop everyone, we are done with wars.

They (KSA, UAE, Egypt and others) have a beef with Al Jazeera too since they see it as the instigator and the proliferator of the Arab spring and it may cause revolts and public demonstration against them by their public. Thus they want to eliminate this possibility and wish that their people watch state media only.

Yes what we need is another conflict in M.E

I think it is time the Kings of Arab lands handover power to democratic elected Govs ,take their money somewhere and live out their years in luxury. Or else...

Neither side has a clean consciousness when we are talking about allegedly supporting extremist groups...

The Saudis claim that the Qataris are supporting extremist groups, but I am convinced this move was done to force the Qataris into their orbit in their larger stride against Iran and the policy change (and pressure) of the Americans, the Saudis are probably trying to get out of the spotlight when we are talking about supporting exrtemism.
If Trump were to change his mind on Saudi Arabia (not probable after the massive deals they made with him, which is part of the plan), they would be completely screwed when the Americans would turn their back.

The reason why Egypt has cut ties with Qatar is because the Qataris have been supporting the Muslim Brotherhood, so I think this is fair, but why now? The reason why they did this is to prove to the Saudi's that they stand with them, let's not forget that not too long ago, the Saudi's threatened to cut oil to the Egyptians for alleged support of the Assad regime, Egypt cannot afford that.

UAE is completely in the orbit of the Saudi's, so no suprise here.

Bahrain accused Iran of supporting uprisings against the Bahrain monarchy and considering Qatar never turned their back on Iran, they have an apple to peel.

As long the Qataris will not completely submit to the Saudis, the Saudis will keep this up until they do.

Saudis will not have a ground to stand, not if but when US done with their loot. Typically lackey like UAE bears deadliest brunt of retribution.

All of this seems to be orchestrated by the UAE, yet its interesting to see saudis are blamed everywhere - I guess this is karma for Saudi too for.

Remember in the leaked emails between Otaiba and Pro Israeli think thank, they discuss issues on how to deal with Qatar Turkey and to a much lesser extent Kuwait and Saudi.

So it just might be a bigger plot. What UAE probably doesn't realise is that it won't last long - but don't think they care - it's just a few elite men who probably have homes in Sweden or Switzerland

they cant do nothing against usa
they will eat them alive

Turkey is not acting alone, Russia and Iran are standing behind. US does have limited capability to eat a country like Turkey alive. Nor it does have appetite. When it comes to Russia and Iran, US has ZERO option. Zions can use all their lobby and media power to pursue US to act on their behalf. That game reached its expiry date already.

Lol U.S is Qatar's main lifeline dude. If U.S wants to do something to Qatar there's nothing any country can do about it, not Russia and even less so Iran or Turkey. Plus the U.S has the capability to eat any country in the region alive.
