If we continue with our current development and keep being a young population Turkey's economy will be in top 10 within 10-15 years.

Good, give it another 2 years with Turkey's GDP improving every year while rest of Europe goes south. That will give Turkey the clout to make a strong pitch for joining the EC. The way things are going now, I don't think Germany and France will resist much longer especially if Turkey joins as a contributing member in a position to help the weaker members.

PS: Doesn't Angie baby look like the perfect happy granny?

Why would Turkey want to even join the declining EU?

It's future will lie more with Asia than Europe.

Well done Turkey Well done keep it up!.....we very happi about that progress in ure GDP.....:)

answering this question is getting harder and harder with every passing day!

we are not a EURO country and we are not taking part in their decision making but we are in the custom union! so this simply means we are not using their money (EURO) and we are not participating in their decision making process but still we are a part of their economic union! it has some negative effects but I have to say we have been benefiting greatly from this custom union! still almost %50 of our trade is with them! this custom union provided us a chance to reach european markets and made our economy more competitive! Moreover, we want to take part in this decision making process by being an EU member!

and we have to admit the fact that EU means " standardization" almost in every field of life and we need to adopt this standardization!
We may not love them or We may not love the way that they realize some universal values like Democracy and Human Rights! but guess my people are still beliving in these values! and finally being a part of Modern and civilized world is a task setted by the founder of our nation Mustafe Kemal Ataturk

P.S and Scandinavian girls are gorgeous! and some of the Germans are not bad! :flame:

does this economic union allow Turkish workers to travel to other European countries and work there without problem?

I was In Finland for two years for studying! I was in dream but I have to say half swedish ones are the best!

For Turkey to join an anti-Asian block like the EU would be a historic mistake.

As the decades progress, the centre of gravity would shift to the Asians. Most probably the most powerful person in the world in 2030 would be the Chinese leader and not an American one.

Like China, other large Asian countries like India and Indonesia would grow to be mega-sized economies that would make EU economies look like small fish.

Turkey should take whatever it can out of the Europeans and then abandon them to their fate of relative decline.
