Turkey reveals real intentions behind scheme in Libya, to begin oil exploration

May. 16, 2020

CAIRO – Turkey has announced it intents to begin oil and gas exploration in an unspecified area off Libya’s coast, exposing Erdogan’s real intentions behind an illegal intervention in the country through terrorists and mercenaries.

State-run oil firm Turkish Petroleum has submitted an application to the Tripoli government to start drilling in parts of the Eastern Mediterranean, Energy Minister Fatih Donmez said on Thursday.

“Exploration will begin as soon as the process is completed,” he was quoted as saying.

According to experts, Ankara, which is facing serious economic pressure, is trying to assert control over natural resources in the Eastern Mediterranean, taking advantage of the current coronavirus pandemic and countries’ preoccupation with fighting it.

Experts further added that Ankara is also seeking to use its influence over the Sarraj government to expand the scope of its drilling activities in the Mediterranean.

For their part, foreign ministers of the UAE, Egypt, Cyprus, Greece and France called on Turkey to “fully respect the sovereignty and the sovereign rights of all states in their maritime zones in the Eastern Mediterranean.”

The ministers condemned “the illegal Turkish moves” in the territorial waters of the Republic of Cyprus, which they said represent “a violation of international law according to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea.”

In earlier remarks, Leader of the Libyan National Army (LNA) Khalifa Haftar has vowed to defeat militias and put a stop to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s plans in the country.

LNA spokesman Major General Ahmed al-Mismari has announced that the Army will not stop until liberating Tripoli and defeating extremists, criminal militias, mercenaries, foreign fighters, and Turkish invaders.

He also warned foreign troops that they are running low on time and the army will not stop until Erdogan’s devious scheme is terminated.

What a stupid title. Turkey is searching for hydrocarbon in the Libyan waters with the consent of the Libyan Gonvernment.

Yet, some 3rd countries are annoyed by this fact.

Said Egypt thats arming a CIA operative in Libya.
Turkey is securing Libyan oil supplies for the Libyan people and the Libyan government.
And Turkey will hopefully continue to support Libya so that its oil supplies dont end up in foreign hands like that of Syria.

Me too, I hope Turkey will become more stronger together with Pakistan iron brothers.
I hoped Egypt to be in this alliance, Egypt-Turkey and Pakistan .. a sight to be seen, stronger military ties and also economically.

Sad to see this filthy regime of ours to take hostility against Turks, but in the meanwhile Sisi regime doesn't really respect Gulf countries, he once made jokes about them in a leaked phone call ( he said that they have money like rice and they are half states not real states). I hope he can get back to his mind if he has any and make real approach towards Turkey.

Egypt, Turkey and Pakistan alliance would be unstoppable. Turkey support for the MB is a problem, hopefully relations can be improved in the near future

How is support for MB a problem? Turkey is supporting a platform that would unite the Muslim world. The west hates that their goons Saudis hate that too. Alliances full of swiss cheese is not required.

Sissi and the Egyptian army declared MB as a terrorist organisation but Turkey support MB, if Turkey says to Egypt that your internal affairs are not our concern then the relations would be back to normal. How supporting MB would unify the ummah?

Egyptian people love Turkey in their hearts, we all know it.

Egypt deserved to be the premier Arab state, by virtue of location, population, and influence, but KSA could never tolerate that.

I had very strong hopes for Egypt after overthrow of Mubarak, I watched the whole protests and sequence of events at Tahrir square. However again the forces of evil caged the great nation of Egypt under Sisi.

We in Pakistan pray for Egypt all the time. You are our brother country, we have great love for you. I love to see Egyptians anywhere I see them in the world, among the nicest and friendliest people I have seen.

Masr Om ad Dunya.

Problem is not so much Ikhwan of Egypt, they are merely a political party. It is the one in Levant which is more dangerous. Levant MB had been co-opted by US while in exile in KSA in 70s 80s. Even today they control American Muslim organizations to promote liberalism, voter drives, and lgbt among Muslims.

Dark side is they are radical Arab nationists who use religion as cover for political activities. I have observed them for a long time, it is a toxic group of people.
