Turkey is keen to expand defence industrial cooperation with India and will offer its armed Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to India during the upcoming visit of President Erdogan, said Ilnur Cevik, senior adviser to the Turkish President on Saturday.

He also indicated that Turkey’s support to Pakistan on Kashmir at the Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) is likely to continue.

The statement comes at a time when the President of Cyrus Nicos Anastasiades is in India on a bilateral visit. “A defence cooperation agreement has to be signed. It is in the offing and a draft is being prepared. The head of defence industry of Turkey is part of the delegation,” Mr. Cevik told The Hindu on the sidelines of a discussion at the Observer Research Foundation.

However, discussions would be held during the visit and there is no timeline on the conclusion yet.

Mr. Cevik said that the areas of cooperation are aviation, space and ammunition etc. “India is strong in aviation and space... We produce armoured personal carriers. Some of the ammunition we need can be procured from India... We can introduce India to our successful drones. We have produced drones which are identifying and killing Kurdistan Workers Party terrorists. They would be discussed,” he said. India has been keen on acquiring armed drones for sometime and is very close to procuring the Heron-T UAVs from Israel.

To questions on Pakistan’s continued support on Kashmir, Mr. Cevik pointed that India too had voted in favour of Cyprus at the United Nations, and said international issues should not be mixed up.

On Kashmir issue

On Pakistan’s continued support to cross-border terrorism and Kashmir, he said the issue was for the two countries to discuss.

“On Kashmir, don’t pull us into the kind of problems between India and Pakistan. We are trying to build our relationship with India. You have to sit and solve the problems, but this does not mean that once we have achieved a strong relationship, we will not be an innocent bystander. It means the kind leverage on our side, he said speaking at the discussion on India-Turkey relations,” he stated.

Stating that Turkey was trying to promote its relations with India, while its brotherly ties with Pakistan continued, Mr. Cevik added, “We are trying to rediscover old friends.”

Too bad.:undecided:

they did no't sell it yet neither they bought it yet..
here come the cheer leaders
also they are not bond to us they can sell their product to any one or any country so what,s big deal???

. .
It's always the same pattern.
Such news can never be found in the Turkish media. Only Indian news outlets are reporting these kind of stories. I don't buy it. They're trying to make the Pakistanis feel unsecure about our relationship.

Let's assume it's true. Do you really, really believe that India is going to share technology with us? First of all, Israel would intervene to block any possible deal. Secondly, the Indians are very well aware of the fact that one way or another all Turkish hardware is available for PAF.
And even if India is willing to work with us, the Pakistanis are ahead of Turkey in the field of missile technologies. They always could offer a much better deal to us than Delhi.

All this 'Turkey is going to backstab Pakistan' talk is utter nonsense. It simply doesn't make sense.

There is nothing wrong doing neither slapping anyone. As India supported Cyprus due to Turkish position on Kashmir and offering defence cooperation with Cyprus turkey to want to bring India in its favor by offering defence related item. It's not going to do any significant impact on Pakistan as Pakistan too have options to get UAV from China turkey.
Pakistan Turkey relation and mutual interest is not that cheap that going to change by later sells of some modern UAV. I won't surprise if more modern version offer to Pakistan whither India buy or not..

LOL why is India not buying them then???? Good chance to isolate Pakistan by buying the drones from Turkey. But this move will piss off french Israelis and USA. So can India really afford these drones which are designed by Pakistan.

Maybe Pakistan should acquire them. It could be a marketing ruse by Turkey to push Pakistan into a sale. Russia does that with India all the time.

These Indians only brag and fabricate such crap through their media. You won't find any news on Turkish media.

The news is plain BS. Apart from Indian source there is no other source out there to confirm it.

Seems to be the case so far. I have done some searching and not seen any such news.

But I still found lots of news of Ilnur Çevik (apparently advisor of Erdogan) saying VERY positive things about India dating between now and 2 days ago. One news said he said "we need to refresh relations with India" but mainly economic indicates and potentials of the country.

Nothing that implies military stuff.
