Turkey has the youngest population in Europe by median age, according to latest Eurostat figures.
Having a median age of 29.7, Turkey ranks first in the Old Continent while EU-27 population stands at an average age of 41.5. The share of the oldest segment of the population aged over 80 is 1.4 percent in Turkey as opposed to EUs 4.9 percent.
Turkeys young, urban, and well-educated population of about 75 million people with increasing purchasing power is considered the backbone of the countrys expanding economy and one of the main points of attraction for multinational companies looking for growth markets
