I pity Pakistan, my dear neighbour, almost 45 % can't read and write and stuck in ummah/pan-islamist fantasy which adds nothing, instead has only brought terror and misery into Pakistan. What shah Ismael the great did in few years will happen naturally in Pakistan in coming 100 to 200 years, sunnism-ummaism-panislamism will be put aside for new ideas. In Pakistan it will happen slower because islam was one of the main factors which led to creation of Pakistan. So there will be a period of identity crisis at the end of this century and after that it's bye bye ummah/pan-islamism in Pakistan aswell. Eventually Iran will influence Afghanistan also, so we'll witness a domino effect. If we want our countries back we have no other choice than cultural independency (some might call it nationalism) hand in hand with improving our economie by investing in education, science, infrastructure.
