Turkey Could End Syria in 1 Day.

.
1 day  . It's very fortunate that the invader and invadee share a border, but to say Turkey would defeat Syria in one day is outrageous.

for one you would need to knock out the Syrian and Russian air defenses. that means attacking Russia warships, and Russia air defenses around Khmeimim air base.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syrian_Air_Defense_Force

and you still gotta deal with the inferior but numerical Syrian air defense.

now let's assume Turkey doesn't use it's air power, but would rather just launch a major ground assault with 1,000+tanks and other armored vehicles, and 200,000+ soldiers

the SAA still has thousands of tanks and ATGM at their disposal, and the intelligence gathering ability of the Russians.

you are looking at major loses for both sides, and always the chance this would lead into a larger conflict with Russia.

Turkey would win within a month, but then again it could turn out like Yemen.:sniper:

Even if it takes a year, its welcomed.

470,000 innocent people have died due to the inaction of the UN. 90% of these casualties came at the hands of Bashar al-Assad. About time someone did something.

470,000 innocent people? how did you come to that number?? how do we know they are all innocent and not rebels or at least supplying the rebels??

if they are truly innocent I feel sorry for them, but the blame should go on the native rebels and the tens of thousands of rebels that came from all across the world to wage jihad.

now, now calm down my very aggressive semi-radical Sunni friend, turkey has the stronger army undoubtedly but now you are just empty boasting.
the US took longer then that to finish off Iraq what makes you think turkey can take Syria in less time with 1/6-9 of the force?
nobody likes sabre-rattling

Invasion of Iraq was based on lies.

Try again.

yes and?
i wasn't talking about the political reason for the war, i was talking about the amount of time it took for the US armed forces to unseat the ba'ath government. i expected a much more.. strong response.:coffee:

.
Not possible! Turkey might defeat Syrian armed forces and even have the capability to occupy the country but this will take time. Perhaps months.

Amateur.

Iraq had no on-going civil war like Syria (2011—now).

Try again. :coffee:

. . .
Great so now you have proven Turkey can win in Syria.

Thanks. :coffee:
did i ever deny victory was impossible?
i can't recall saying that, but i do recall you whining and crying about "western lies in Iraq" how turkey can unseat Syria in one day (impossible) and you seem to think the Russians wouldn't doing anything if turkey were attacking their bases in Syria.
that said when you said Iraq didn't have a civil war i died laughing, the country has been battling an insurgency for most of its history.

.
There is no such thing as 1 day war... Even poorest countries have an unexpectable resistance might. At wars, there too much fickles. But here people really love to say that military powers could invade a country at no time. That's bullshit and no Red Alert 2...

.
Btw turkey isn't anywhere near the USA's strength during the 2003 invasion yet.
