TTP Swat commander among 50 arrested in search operations

KARACHI: Karachi police arrested 50 suspects including outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Swat commander in Karachi today, police officials said.

According to SHO Manghopir Ghulam Hussain Koraye, police conducted a search operation in Manghopir area after receiving information about the presence of criminal elements in the area.

During the operation, TTP Swat commander Gul Nawab and four other suspects were arrested. Motorcycles and weapons were also recovered.

The commander was wanted for activities linked to terrorism and for the supply of weapons.

During a door-to-door search, 47 other suspects were also detained and were shifted to police station for questioning.

Police and Rangers also conducted joint search operations in FC Area, Nusrat Bhutto Colony, Kosar Niazi Colony, Firdous Colony and Katti Pahari and detained 50 suspects. However, no formal arrests were made. The operations were conducted after the cracker blast on Imam Bargah in FC Area.

Intelligence agencies also conducted a raid in Hub to arrest gang-war suspect Bilal alias Bhaiya but he managed to escape. According to sources the suspect escaped to Lyari. He is wanted for involvement in 30 murders and is allegedly a member of the Uzair Baloch group.

Good catch and we should use Drones on Mullah Radio whenever we find concrete evidence of his location, we shouldn't leave him on ANA,NATO,USA mercy, they wont do anything !!

I agree. It is hard to deal with a political party with major support in the city though. I am not defending it but that may be the core reason why PPPP and MQM haven't been in the cross hairs of police.

I read somewhere the Aztecs of Mexico used a method called Flaying in which skin of an alive person was pealed off..
That would be awesome one..Or Impalement on a sharpened wooden pole on which person is compelled to sit and then that sharpened pole penetrates him up to head...

I consider Hanging or Shooting as a mercy...That would be a salvation... No?? They must taste the pain they caused..

Yep that is a blight but you cannot take a strong action against a political party that has support without the support of federal and provincial govts and both of these govts aka N and PPP have strong connections with MQM especially PPP that is not only in a coalition govt with them but also used them for unity support base during 2008-2013.

Even PTI would love the support of MQM if given by MQM so lack of political will is a huge factor.

Let me tell you something. In the 90s pakistan did conduct an operation against them and just like lal masjid fiasco, it turned into that due to lack of support and will from both political structure as well as from the people. Result was that MQM survived and promised to exact revenge against all those that were part of the operation.

In the words of SSP rao anwar " all those that were part of that operation on the ground have been killed apart from me. I am the last survivor of those operations that were conducted and my life has been targeted three times. "

Not easy.

Anyhow great work by them and hopefully we torture them to extract the names of their handlers and the system behind it to get the network and close it down once and for all.
