this is ridiculous situation you are in
It is. As I mentioned above its the result of half passed actions. The lesson is that when an operation happens it must be concluded. Leaving it unfinished only creates a problem.
In the 90s we did Karachi operation but it was stopped due to political weakness and lack of support. The result was 20 years later Karachi was the hub of terrorism and massive massive crime and thus the recent action in Karachi which saw peace being prevailed.
Lal masjid is the same story. The politicians use them for political muscle and fear that the backlash of the operation will result in attacks on them. The army wants to clear Punjab and has been pushing for operations but the CM Punjab does not want to bcz that would mean losing their political thugs aka the Punjabi Taliban.
The thing is that public support is there now as well as media support. The political will is required especially in an environment where the govt is constantly looking to embarrass the army but PML N through rana sanaullah run these groups and get votes with the help of these groups and take down political rivals.
This is not pti rubbish but the truth. I am very unbiased in these matters.
One day lal masjid will have to be taken down if terrorism is to be eradicated. It is a confrontation that must happen and I pray when it does It will get the support of 2014 zarb e azb and not of the 2008 musharraf.
