TTP finalises 15 point draft for talks

PESHAWAR: The Taliban Shura has finalised a fifteen point draft for negotiations with the Pakistan government and the draft proposal is likely to be handed over to the peace facilitators and their representatives who are in Waziristan, DawnNews reported.

The Taliban Shura had been meeting since Saturday under its deputy Ameer Sheikh Khalid Haqqani.

Professor Ibrahim Khan and Maulana Yousuf Shah who are in Waziristan for a meeting with the Taliban Shura are likely to convey these points to the committee formed by the government for mediation.

The points are as follows:

1) Stop drone attacks.

2) Introduce Sharia law in courts.

3) Introduce Islamic system of education in both public and private educational institutions.

4) Free Pakistani and foreign Taliban captured in jails.

5) Restoration and remuneration for damage to property during drone attacks.

6) Hand over control of tribal areas to local forces.

7) Withdrawal of army from tribal areas and close down check posts.

8) All criminal allegations held against the Taliban to be dropped.

9) Prisoners from both sides to be released.

10) Equal rights for all, poor and rich.

11) Families of drone attack victims to be offered jobs.

12) End interest based system.

13) Stop supporting the US on the war on terror.

14) Replace the democratic system of governance with the Islamic system.

15) Stop all relations with the US.

argh, these ***.holes are using these so called talks to regroup and restrengthen. Even if the talks are successful these savages are gonna use to this time to train more suicide bombers and openly at that, acquire more firepower and bombs and then unleash it onto the gov't in matter of time.

I don't get why after Hakumullah's death they went from no talks at all with the gov't to let's start another peace process? only reason being the military bombardment against them in the last few months left them weakened. And these snakes do it all the time. Army fights them, weakens them and they start parroting peace talks.

I say finish this fight and end this evil. Talib prisoners cannot be released. Army cannot be withdrawn from FATA areas.

some demands are reasonable, while others are negotiable.

The first demand is "stop drone attacks"
That aint happening !! (as govt. of Pakistan can not guarantee that) , for that TTP needs to negotiate with US directly

Rest of the demands are impractical (most of them)

There is nothing much in them to "negotiate about" any ways

Acceptable

Nothing wrong with that either

Negotiable

A big no. Not negotiable.

5) Restoration and remuneration for damage to property during drone attacks.

Nothing wrong with that either.

Not possible at this time.

Again not possible at this time.

8) All criminal allegations held against the Taliban to be dropped.

Such serious offenses can't be dropped that easily. Not possible again at this time.

9) Prisoners from both sides to be released.

Nope...

10) Equal rights for all, poor and rich.

Might be the best demand in the list. Acceptable.

11) Families of drone attack victims to be offered jobs.

Acceptable

12) End interest based system.

There is Islamic banking already in practice. More can be done to make it more close to Islamic teachings.

13) Stop supporting the US on the war on terror.

OK. But no foreign fighter would be allowed to use Pakistani territory to wage wars on others. WOT or not.

Nope.... Some changes can be made. But democracy would stay in Pakistan.

Not possible.
