if by doing more he means rescuing a woman who was also defiled infront of her children and had 3 of them born in captivity which lasted 5 years.....then I think he is an idiot.... they were not put through this process on our advice and pak would certainly would have rescued them even if we were actually fighting a war with USA on humanitarian grounds

I was thinking the same thing. Why wasn't there a rescue attempt by US forces in Afghanistan when they had complete intel about them. They should/could have rescued them in afghanistan where they have their forces and everything. Why let them cross over to pakistan in the first place to be rescued and trust PA when you're selling the world this narrative that we don't act against haqqanis? Something doesn't add up. What if the operation by PA was unsuccessful. Blame it on PA then?

Do some PR. Parade these released captives on the media, make a big fuss about it. Let them praise Pakistan and the military. Why not show this as something US couldn't do, portray it as a big thing.

but now the story that needs to b told is : they were kept for 5 years in Afghanistan where woman was defiled and gave birth to 3 children... but was rescued very next day they crossed into Pakistan..... and ask a question : who is incompetent here????????????
