U.S. Helped Pakistan Get IMF Bailout With Secret Arms Deal for Ukraine, Leaked Documents Reveal

The powers that be will never willingly regulate or reform themselves. They'd rather the country burn than see their gravy train stopped. It has to be imposed upon them, either through civil war/revolution/favourable politcal conditions with devastatingly low public support. I hope the latter but even then the apathy I see now isn't inspiring confidence.
Revolution can happen only within the establishment itself. A group of like-minded individuals, within the establishment, must come together and act in order to save the country.

Even if this means eliminating other factions of the establishment that are deemed dangerous to the country, or even treacherous. For it seems the current faction most powerful within the establishment has abandoned national interests altogether for financial benefit.

The sad thing is they can’t see the small pond they live in and the limited gravy train they are hoarding can be carefully reinvested back into the country (as well as pivot to a new foreign policy strategy) to become like South Korea, a 50 fold increase in wealth in only a couple generations. They don’t have to give up their privileges, except for a few years.

5-10 years of sacrifice is all it will take, if other reforms are also made, to completely transform the country.

It’s the younger members of the elite that will have to bring their boomer parents kicking a screaming into the reality of the world, kind of like MBS has done for Saudi Arabia, in hopes of being able to get ready to thrive in it.

South Korea had 40 million + people with strong influences from Chinese/Japanese culture. Of course they had a patron saint in Uncle Sam.
Pakistan has none of those

Pakistan has its native culture and Pre-Zia Islamic practices it can return, which overlap with the practices in Central Asia and Kashmir. Pakistan can also rebuild its relationship through a convergence of interests around access to Central Asia.

Korea was a defacto island in the face of three communist countries, Pakistan would be a bridge to Central Asia and the last Russian underbelly. A bridge China wouldn’t mind Pakistan building with the US, as it wouldn’t jeopardize their interests much.

It is wishful thinking. Why would China want a peer rival in Central Asia ? They need captive markets with raw materials. The ones that USA cannot impose naval blockades are more valuable. Central Asian Republics are low hanging fruit.

If he attends he would have been arrested and put on trial there’s a warrant out on him

That's exactly why he did not attend
India would have been wiped from the face of earth if it facilitated such foolery....

The success of BRI depends on not just Chinese traffic moving through the transport infrastructure, but all kinds of traffic, to keep costs down. Also, the faster nations develop on China’s borders increases markets for Chinese products. The more FDI these nations get, the faster they can develop.

The US is coming to Central Asia one way or another, but if Pakistan has a decent relationship with the US, it bodes well for the success of the flagship of BRI; CPEC, and Chinese investment/loans/contracts can continue to be given to Pakistan, if so desired by the Pakistani side.

Work out sample natural gas contract and see how competitive or uncompetitive the whole Central Asia thing is.

The maritime traffic costs are low. I am not sure how Pakistan can compete. India is the elephant in the room. Only a portion of China trade will even come to Gwadar. If India does not use Pakistan for land transport no one is generating the traffic to keep costs down. If India does not allow traffic to Pakistan neither will South East Asia.

Rest of BRI is power generation & telecom stuff which India is far ahead of Pakistan in all aspects.

Just like the India-ME-Europe corridor, not everything is dollars and cents. Secondly, it’s the minerals (and local influence) in Central Asia and competing with Russia and China for them, that the west desires. As Russian gas comes off line (when they can’t afford to maintain their infrastructure, due to lower profit margin on their gas exports, gas prices will increase, making investments by large western oil and gas conglomerates more viable). First will come the mineral exports, but later on it will be oil and gas.

A sitting US senator confirming on record that the US helped us with IMF and all, and we agreed to supply Ukraine weapons.

How much more of a source do you want?

Our generals and politicians really are sellouts.

You could say sellouts if we gave the weapons for free.

If we sold the weapons in quid pro quo deal, how is it sellout?

It helps establishment to hold on to illegal power ... establishment wishes to perpetuate their hold on power.
So, how did the word establishment come into popular use? Sounds like the army chief is a permanent fixture of Pakistani politics, who is called the establishment by all Pakistanis.

.
Youthias are actually mad that Pakistan got $900 million of exports and IMF guarantee just because it didn't happen under PTI's tenure

It is fine to compete with Russia and China in Central Asia. at what cost ? No one does anything for charity. No one wants to put up with Taliban like cavemen in Afghanistan.

Wrong

As geography of Afghanistan, can not be ignored in any economic prospects for all nations in central Asia with Pakistan.

In current time, Russia is providing economical life-line to central Asian countries through roads and train link with Moscow and did have strengthen its dependency policy since long time.

Central Asian countries and Afghanistan has same cultural and religion attachment with Pakistan.

Just think about the Scenario, If OIL and Gas pipe lines, Good roads and train links, modern infrastructure build in between these nations how much Pakistan would gain power in the whole region.

Everyone will benefit from it from win win situation for all parties.

Port access for export and import plus industrial revolution and energy distribution among all countries. It will create a strongest economic zone.
