Another evidence that some elements within the Turkish government or state apparatus have been arming radicalist elements within the Syrian opposition.

Minister says intercepted truck was taking aid to Syria

Newly appointed Interior Minister Efkan Ala has said that the intercepted truck in Southern province of Hatay was transporting aid to Turkmens in Syria.

Ala said the truck, which is claimed to be taking arms to Syria, is actually taking aid to Syria for Turkmens.

A truck was intercepted last night in Hatay. It was alleged that the truck was carrying arms and there were rumors of the truck belonging to Humanitarian Aid Association (İHH). İHH dismissed the rumors.

A person who identified himself as an officer of National Intelligence Organization (MİT) is claimed to stop the search of the truck. 3 people who were present in the truck were detained.

Turkish gendarmes reportedly discovered weapons and ammunition after pursuing a truck bound for Syria in the southern province of Hatay on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip, gendarmes stopped a truck that allegedly belongs to an aid organization on a road between Kırıkhan and Reyhanlı near the Syrian border.

A significant amount of ammunition and weapons were discovered, according to local reports. When news reports appeared in the media, the Humanitarian Aid Foundation (İHH) strongly rejected any link to the seized truck in a written statement.

According to reports circulating in the Turkish media, Hatay Governor Celalettin Lekesiz unsuccessfully tried to take the truck back from the gendarmerie. The Hatay chief public prosecutor is investigating the incident.

Claims of recent seizure of weapons came as Turkish security forces began to clamp down on all arms shipment across the borders to Syria after Turkey faced mounting international criticism for being soft on radical groups crossing its porous borders. In another similar incident, a total of 935 rocket warheads seized from a truck in the southern city of Adana near the Syrian border in early November.

Turkish support for terrorism becomes a bigger crisis

Truck en route to Syria stirs crisis between judiciary, executive - Today's Zaman, your gateway to Turkish daily news

As per claims, the gendarmerie discovered, in an initial search in the truck, ammunition, weapons and humanitarian aid, the daily said. According to the report, the police were made to transfer the investigation to the gendarmerie as the place where the truck was stopped by the police was reportedly an area out of the city limits. Hatay Governor Celalettin Lekesiz, who was reportedly informed of the incident, instructed the gendarmerie to not conduct a search of the truck.

“Police officers who followed and stopped the truck have been relieved of their duty. A prosecutor in charge of anti-terrorism investigations who was on the spot of the incident instructed the gendarmerie to search the truck, but the gendarmerie did not conduct any search [of the truck] based on written instructions from the [Hatay] governor. While the prosecutor, who also failed to have the gendarmerie search [the truck] left the spot, the truck drove away,” the daily claimed.

Turkey wouldn't allow arms to get through had NATO and the US been against it. But, they approve of it even though they act as if they're against certain rebel organizations.

And it has nothing to do with it being an humanitarian issue. The West never invested in conflicts because it's the right thing to do.

The amount of evidence points to a situation where Turkey has been aiding Al Qaeda related and radical groups since at least a year. That is pretty much settled. The question is why nobody is pointing their fingers at USA and NATO for allowing this.

the Turkish police had captured this truck so it doesnt make sense to blame Turkey in this case.

Because they run the world and would never hold themselves accountable.

i hope this is not true :(

mate, this incident is indeed truth.

When Gendarmerie stopped the truck and tried to do a search. A MIT officer came down from the truck and said contents of the container is "State secret"..... There is no question in our minds that truck is looded with weapons/ammunation.

The question to whom those weapons send to. To Turkmens or FSA. I personally think, it is the first option.

For the cameras... And redispatched to zionist Al Qaeda later
