What's new

Tripura wants its teas to be auctioned again in Bangladesh, stopped since 1965 war with Pakistan

It's sealed to an extend in Nagaland,Mizoram,Arunachal now even Manipur with ILP. Naga & mizos are too canny to be deceived by unchecked illegal immigrants influx, they have developed strong internal mechanism to monitor that. Arunachal is buffered by Nagaland and Assam, Manipur was more open ended but now it procured ILP, and is an ancient civilization with strong traditional culture, for any remaining immigrants perforating from nearby states are likely to assimilate in Meitei or adopt their culture and language than cause disruption. From Punjabi to bangladeshi those who have lived in the state speak in local tongue and adopt local culture on their own, totally different case than Tripura, the twiprasa seems weak on culture power, from what I've seen. Meghalaya also has many indigenous protection laws but doesn't have ILP. But still they can't take any chances .
This is a thread on Tripura wishing BD cooperation on its Tea. But, here, you have already written a new Ramayana. Are you stupid?
In NE parts nobody really considers BD as preferred study destination ,the few people that goes to BD from India are for medical college, because in India it's 3 times more expensive, but it's hard getting gov jobs with BD degree in Indian hospitals. Indians prefer Chinese college for medical studies which are cheaper yet higher quality than Indians colleges,I've many friends that studied medicine in China.
The AFSPA mandate has nothing to do with demographic change, they just let loose uncivilized rapist from mainland Indian in deep backwater regions where the savages thought they could do anything they want under AFSPA and get away with it,that's your pre internet era.

Manipur got ILP just 2 year ago,for protection against migrants.Actually NE states didn't oppose the CAA in unison, the protest was largely by some groups.Manipur got ILP(inner line permit)- only thanks to CAA, it was delivered right before CAA was passed, that quelled the unison opposition of the bill's amendment.CAA doesn't matter to much of NE region for the article applies to only those who arrived before 2014 and those bangla may be Indian now but they can't procure land in protected areas of Manipur, mizoram,Nagaland,Arunachal. Those people are already based in ASSAM & Tripura's bengla region ,not in sixth schedule areas.
All the gov, including the central gov are strengthening indigenous protection laws if anything, most indigenous tribes are in mainland INDIA not even in NE. CAA is different than removing the very protection laws that prevented the unified opposition of the bill from NE states.

The problem with your kind is ,y'all read too much xinjiang narrative of CNN,and than have some vile urge to see it's application else where. No nation in the world can mandate laws for indigenous demography genocide of their own civilians and get away with it unscathed, North and south demography isn't even same.
North east India isn't a single state like kashmir ,it's an union of 7 states ,no sane gov would pick on7 states doing their usual business ,just to please your deplorable mind. NE region isn't Tibet ( genetic brothers off china and part of Xinjiang for many many centuries,so was xinjiang. It's a totally different issue. Why rock a boat that's going fine?No GOV would want trouble in on the administration's area, the concerned region which is bigger than that laos and UK,with tens of millions of inhibitants. The union is a compromise, north ,east or south ,all bounded by some sort of mutual interest.Indian political structure isn't black and white.

@Leishangthem don't act like a primitive ape by blabbering the same thing repeatedly. Those agreements between the tribals and the Indian gov are just pieces of papers, they don't mean anything unless northeast has some authority or leverage to enforce them, earlier you had those separatist groups who had the leverage but now you don't even have that. Kashmiri militants are a far bigger military threat for India than Northeast can ever be and yet India has successfully revoked its special status, Northeast is just an easy pushover.

India ended Kashmir's autonomy as the Americans decided to leave Afghanistan, leaving it on the hands of Taliban and Pakistan. Given the growing disputes with China, India would now look forward to do the same in the Northeast.

In any case, as a patriotic Indian, you shouldn't have any problem with mainland settlers in the Northeast. It has been already suggested by the British that mainlanders are far better administrators and far more civilized than the northeast tribals which is why they settled the Bengalis in that region. More mainland settlers would turn northeast localities from primitive habitats into a modern societies like what has happened in Tripura.

It seems your I Q isn't helpful in understanding the basic concept of any working mechanism of a country.
Scrap this scrap that ? why are you so obsessed about scrapping? did someone scrapped your land or something in your state? What leverage are you talking about? are states of a nation supposed to have personal military ?
Why do you keep harping Kashmir Kashmir like broken record? What have we gotta do with Kashmir?
What's the co-relation ?someone did something in some part of the world so , it infringes everyone else in another part of world?
If it was so simple Modi wouldn't have been negotiating the Naga peace accord till date. But what would your kind know?

If ,thieving, slums, rape, crime and pigmentation is civilization than ,Africa must be the zenith of it.
British didn't settled any Bangla in our Manipur,Nagaland,Mizoram, the immigrant pest all arrived later,Infact the British created the ILP system to prevent those.
The tea picker and coolies of Assam that British brought for slave labor hardly qualify as "civilized ".
The Meghalaya, manipur,Mizoram(even militant controlled Nagaland is more pristine) are deemed far superior than tripura,Tripura only leads in filth, crime, rape. It looks like eyesore,I advice you to actually go to Meghalaya/Mizoram/Manipur before opening your ignoramus mouth . The indigenous trbibe's influence is the only thing preventing the Tripura sate from become typical anarchy state with bengla immigrant population doing whatever they want.

No, because I'm not a second class citizen in my country, people from northeast India are. I belong to the same culture that has the national status in my country, people from northeast India do not.

I already showed you the example of Arunachal Pradesh as to how it is being Indianized.

That's subjective and I wouldn't argue on that, a cannibalistic tribal from Amazon would always find forests with tall trees superior than skyscrapers while a native of a modern city would feel the opposite.

Those tea pickers and coolies are tribals themselves, in Sylhet, these tea pickers are mostly Manipuri and Santal tribals.

The British brought Bengalis to Assam as administrators since the locals were considered too primitive. You can read the Imperial Gazetteers to read more about it.

Anyway, let's not go off topic.

NE are very glad to have a different culture. Atleast the constitution provides them with exceptional perks? regardless of what you percieve.

I already showed you the example of Arunachal Pradesh as to how it is being Indianized.
How?
PS:Arunachal /south tibet with strong influence of dalai lama is of different species than rest of NE . Though they are not too fond of immigrants either.

But I don't know where did you find skyscrapers in Tripura, have u been there? lol? From what I've seen the infrastructure of Mizoram,Meghalaya especially Manipur are much better.

Clearly you're imagining stuff now, Manipuri-> meetei-> non- ST on Indian constitution. Santal tribals are Bangladeshi indigenous ethnicity ,your blood brother, manipur have no history of tea,but with silk and weaving nor they have history of British taking them for tea picking .Few Manipur folk advanced to Sylet area, when 1. Manipur's kingdom extended to Sylet tact 2. During Burma -Manipur war.
Now most of the so called manipuri remaining in sylet are fake manipuri ,of Bd origin , they call themselves as "Bishnupriya-Manipuri".

The British brought Bengalis to Assam as administrators since the locals were considered too primitive. You can read the Imperial Gazetteers to read more about it.
You are totally wrong ,bengal people were all over Assam outside some indigenous populated areas of the current sixth schedule .
The Assamese royals are from DAI from far east, they are better stock and than bangla immigrants over which they ruled & intermixed, they were already using bengali style script due to that ,the British and their staff only knew Bengali, hence they further spead bangal language use ,to operate with British raj as common medium .

The spread and dominance of Hindi in Arunachal Pradesh.

Tripura is far more urbanized than the states you mentioned. Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur etc. don't even have any economy to begin with.

Santals are native tribals of Bihar/Jharkhand/Orissa area and manipuris were from the magipur state in Northeast. Both were brought into Bengal by the British as coolies to work in the tea estates. They are still confined in the tea estate areas to this day as they struggle to change their generations old profession.

This is what the British used to say: Assamese tribals are too primitive and too addicted to opium that they are not even capable to farm the lands, which rendered Assam as an unproductive region with no revenues. This prompted the British to settle Bengalis in the region with land ownership and administrative control. Assamese lands soon came under Bengali zamindars like the Nawab of Dhaka and others while Bengalis began to assume the administrative roles, leaving the local tribals without any political power. That was the root cause behind all the anti-Bengali sentiments in Assam that is seen today.

Manipur has one of the if not the lowest gdp, gdp per capita, growth rate, you name it out of all north eastern states. Tripura on the other hand is most of times within top 3(usually 2nd)in all of these metrics so don't really know where you are getting this so called superior infrastructure in Manipur. Can you give examples to prove your claim that infrastructure is so much better?

Understandable, Manipuris tend to remain tied to their primitive culture. In Bangladesh they are still confined within the tea estates as they struggle to change their primitive profession of tea-picking while other tribes like Chakma, Garo, Marma etc. have moved to different professions, some even representing Bangladesh in the international stage.

We do have very well to do Manipuris, here in Tripura too and representing India especially sports like football. But this guy needed a reality check for name calling Tripura calling it eyesore and what not. I sense strong bengali hatred in this one.

I said they are different species, different in mind. The region were part of tibet not NE in actual origin, under Dalai lama they operate differently.
They use Hindi to communicate with other plethora of indigenous tribes and Chakma from Bangladesh ,it's different.

? ¿ Have you actually been there?
You can cross tripura's city Agartala, from end to end,on a two wheeler in less than 10 minutes, that;s how tiny it is ,after that villages. There's hardly anything of aesthetic in immigrant populated areas. The market is the most messy I've ever seen in my life. Nothing unique, looks like semi-urban slum areas of Bangladesh. There's like one shopping mall but lacks stuff.Imphal has 4-5 big shopping malls with much more availability of options. There's like 2 cafe in Agartala ,one of which is from mainland another by immigrant or indigenous tribe. And they look dingy with hardly any aesthetic.Imphal has dozens of local cafe and lounges and many thing more. There's hardly anything in Agartala.
Even after 30 minutes of drive and at Imphal outskrit there's cafe, lounges and road like this. All indigineous in the state ,basic objects to car hail service, delivery service and almost everything ,while Tripura lives on import /export.

This is what a foreigner says about mizoram,he basically calls mainland filthy, uncivilized and weird.

I didn't asked u to parrot your typical uneducated crap all over again,it's well documented how the Manipur folk went there,it was after/during the Manipur Burma war they went to sylet which was part of Cachar ,not bangladesh back then..

You know Assam isn't even a single tribe? not all tribes are same, like the munda-sendal of bengal origin, khashi tribes are from south east are different breed than the Nagas sinotibetic-Tibeto-Burman tribes with eastern origin? ,Assamese royal =/= all assamese tribes. The tea plantation areas are dominated by sendal ,munda tribes of bengal origin. The brits were likely talking about them.

Lol I cracked up  when you did you visit Agartala mate, 1980? A simple Google search would have landed you a big estimate on how many cafes we have here. I think you mistook a puri sabji dhaba with a cafe are now spreading bs. About shopping malls, what do you mean exactly? If you mean the ones where you have various large stores along with movie theatres and the like yes we have one, or maybe two if you count city center which also has movie theatre and multiple shops, hey there is Aitorma too really as it's big enough to that standard, more maybe I don't recall. But if you mean just large marts then we have multiple, reliance trends, vishal mega mart, bazaar Kolkata and so on and other similar to them in size especially govt sponsored super markets. I really doubt on which metric you are claiming your shopping malls based on your gdp but well if you say so, wouldn't be surprised if they are just super marts. Not to mention we have multiple hotels now which fall in the 3-4 star bracket. And this is just Agartala places like Udaipur, Dharmanagar, Belonia are quickly catching up.
Again just do a quick Google search or a search in YouTube will do you good instead of staying with your own biases.

How is the king viewed by the Bengalis? Seeing how he is riling the Tipra people up against them? Does he have any constitutional/legal powers?

His father the late King and indeed all the previous kings are seen in a very good light, we have various places named after the Manikya kings and queens. The current king though just because of his entry in Tipraland politics is seen either in negative or neutral light by bengalis. He doesn't have any legal/constitutional powers being King apart from the powers of being in the political space.
