What's new

Tried my first south indian food

used as a appetizer? ... sounds different but intrestin!

No - it is a breakfast or lunch or dinner. One dosa is filling enough - My primary care physician here in US is a Pakistani doctor - He was the one who warned me of the calories in a dosa (he would call it dosha) - he said it is around 800 calories for a single piece of this.

I like only Non Veg..... Chicken, Mutton,Fish, Beef... at least Egg.... and these are all veg... But I like Dosa..... There are non veg dosas as well! :D

Those dosas in the picture are restaurant dosas. We prepare smaller sized ones - like the crepes and we do not eat more than 3 or 4 at a time. And my wife especially tries to use brown rice for a portion of the rice. Atleast at my home we do it maybe once in 2 months. But the sandwiches you eat during weekdays for lunch is enough to get one a heart attack or diabetes.

Doctors are right - South Asian foods are not exactly healthy prepared with lots of oil. You start going for physical examinations with the doctors here and the South Asian foods becomes a luxury.

How about this? This is also sometimes my dinner -
