Top Secret: ‘Project Varsha’ is India’s answer to Chinese presence in Gwada

200 km from Vyzag would be more threatening to BD and the other littoral nations like Indonesia and Malaysia.

Gwadar?
How stupid are these analysts? and I used to cry over rupee news.
Gwadar is technically being fed to the Chinese so that something comes of it and the place does not go to waste.

As far as the Chinese Navy is concerned, they are welcome to dock and station anywhere in Pakistan.
Be it Karachi, Ormara or otherwise. We're happy to have them anywhere and let them build a dedicated base anywhere.

Was that sarcastic? :undecided:

Top Secret:
The Indian Navy is developing a new top-secret naval base for its nuclear submarines, code-named Project Varsha, and located within a radius of approximately 200 kilometers from Visakhapatnam. The new base is designed to support all 8-12 Arihant -class submarines to be built for the Indian Navy and it will include state-of-the-art nuclear engineering support facilities and extensive crew accommodation.

This is top secret? LOL, you can see the structures of any base's construction through Google view. India is also building another base literally like 100 KM away from Gwadar in Iran.

Fan boys can jump up and down but you have to understand the strategic nature of these bases. The former is being built to keep the IN submarines under water with support infrastructure in an effort to hide the Satellite view.

The port development with Iran won't help either. None of the middle eastern countries want to do business with Iran. And these ports are supposed to be used PRIMARILY for oil and other related materials to the Central Asian countries. As much as I don't like the fact, but China sitting in Gwadar and other places is a risk for the US.
In Pakistan's case, it does mean hundreds of billions of $$ worth of business ONLY for one port customer...i.e. China itself. The rest (Afg, Central Russian States, Russia) is just added bonus for the Pakistanis. Two ports fully functional with a major part of shipments coming and going from the other end of China is sufficient to give the Pakistani economy a major boost. In fact the revenue will be the catalyst to expand the economy significantly within five years of operations initiation. Whoever comes on-board to use these ports later will be an added bonus but not a must have. The Chinese are doing this in many places. I think it's a serious threat for the US trade routes.

indians can't counter gwadar...Most important sea lanes, global choke points etc belong to Islamic Nations...what can india do? Nothing.

Chinese will get access to warm waters via Gwadar and bypass indians...

Do you have to bring religion into everything? Can you for a moment look at the world without the lens of religion?

Whether those nations are Islamic or Buddhist has ZERO relevance for India. We do not form our friends or enemies or interests on the basis of religion. And by the way, India has more muslims than ALL THOSE Islamic nations PUT TOGETHER. (Assuming you didn't lump Pakistan into the club of Islamic nations that control sea lanes - because Pakistan navy can barely defend its own coast, forget sea lanes.)

Its so sad (and funny at the same time) that there are some people who can only think about history, geopolitics, economics, trade or anything else from the point of view of their religion, and not from humanity's point of view.

Get this into your head - whether the people near shipping lanes are Islamic or hindus or Buddhists has NO bearing on India. It's not like there will be a special, magic, protective Islamic force field there to give an advantage to muslim ships (whatever that may be). And its not like Indian ships depend on any special "hindu energy" or "Sikh force" to pass through those parts.

Nope, That's quite true.
We have no qualms about where the Chinese dock or base themselves.
The only worry we have is for their security, so Karachi Port may be too dangerous but they are welcome to Port Qasim or any other place they wish.

Frankly, I don't think China will be able to build a full fledged naval base in Pakistan for some time. Not as long as the USA has leverage over Pakistan. Pak cannot afford to take such a big step against American interests. In principle it should be Pakistan's choice to make, but then we know that in practice the US has a big grip on Pakistan.

Botched Journalism. What have the Gwadar port have to do with a secret N base(ironically, its out in media before even its constructed) which is in the east side of Indian coast? :hitwall:
