What's new

[Tolstoy]When a Jew, Muslim,Slave Animist, Persian, Christian and Brahmin discuss the God.

. .
We all have our own views on the all-mighty, and only one of us (or none of us) can be right.

Let's just try to get along and find common ground where it exists, whilst peacefully preaching our own faiths to one another (a little education goes a long way).

. .
There is a widespread assumption that all Jews are adherents of Judaism. While it was true for thousands of years and in Tolstoy's times as well, it is hardly the case these days. Jews are an ethnoreligious group with mixed ethnic and religious origins. I am a Jew, but I've nothing to say about God, especially in a multiconfessional dialog. Because I'm an atheist, for god's sake.

If u don't follow Judaism then wouldn't that make u not a Jew? Are u saying that being "Jewish" is also an ethnicity?

. . .
Strange...I've never heard of an ethnicity being linked to religion...this is a first.
Jews are not the only ethnoreligious group. Druze, for example, are also known for being an ethnoreligious group. A closed one, where ethnicity is linked to religion in the strongest way.
