Looking at some of the responses in this thread, it's clear as day.

Also, the TAPI only works if Afghanistan recognizes the durand line and is stable, and there is no guarantee of both. This means that the TAPI is just a (pardon the pun) pipedream.

If Pakistan opposes to this idea, then why do not you make a short term arrangement for 3-5 year, input energy to your industry and stabilize your industry with power....And then during the meantime make enough money so that you can build your own LNG terminal so that you do not have to depend on India....I am still surprised...why Pakistan does not have this much of bussiness sense....If US and China can trade and so also Japan China, India and China then why can not India and Pakistan can trade for small time period? By doing trade, India is not doing any favour to you...It is a business where you pay what you get for your money....There should not be any emotions attached to it...

Seems like our nation has no willing to be progressive, they offered and it will be accepted scenario will suits only to stupids, any way if their gas price is low than IP then i don't think we should show any reluctance, use both sources India & Iran defining time frames of project completion & cost.

Exactly...No one is forcing Pakistan to accept the deal...It is all about benifits...You choose your tangible and also intangible benefits with India offer..If you think that it is not good enough reason to accept the offer then decline it. But if this offer help you to reduce immidiate short term power crisis then you should use it and generate revenue so that you can directly import from Qatar after some period of time. No one is stopping to buy directly...

India already has LNG de-gasification installations for use with imported LNG from Qatar. However, energy is a strategic weapon and the Risk of India shutting off the supplies in case of worsening border situation and plunging north Pakistan into darkness will be there.

I would not accept a perpetual ‘Damocles Sword’ hanging on Pakistan’s vital energy supplies. IMHO, we should sincerely thank India for this generous offer but decline politely. Instead we should invest in our own LNG import facility and buy from Qatar or any other source.

Pakistan has energy crisis and when offered , they shun it away. This reason being just fear. Fine. In this century wars will not be won on battle fields but in markets. A good businessman would not let a good and much needed thing pass by. Be real and do business with India, it will be a win-win scenario for both. We can grow more and Pakistan's economy will be back on track.

Boss, if you look at the statistics , highest number of rapes happen in USA. Secondly, the 30% poor we have are reducing and no matter how much money one pumps in , it will take time for their standard of living to improve. And just our middle class population is almost same as the entire population of Pakistan. This is business, improve trade with us, like we do with China. After having so many issues, if India and China can do trade and maintain peace by dialogue, then why can't Pakistan. This 21st century boss, one has to be more pragmatic for mutual benefit. It has nothing to do with ego and issues, its all about selfish interests and needs on both sides.

Look, nowhere did I say that Pakistan opposes this idea, the problem is about geographical challenges. the TAPI pipeline is going through Afghanistan, a nation that is highly unstable, making it likely that the pipeline will be put in extreme danger if it is completely built, by militant attacks or even gas theft. There is also the danger that Afghanistan would stop the flow if it wants to challenge Pakistan. Pakistan is happy to build it if there are no emotions attached and it's cheaper to build for Pakistan than the IP pipeline (which it isn't), but Afghanistan cannot be trusted to keep it's emotions in check. They'd use the pipeline against Pakistan and use it to pressure Pakistan about the Durand line.

Unless Afghanistan can give guarantees, then the TAPI pipeline is nothing more than a (again, pardon the pun) pipedream.

The only problem with your claim is that only one is known to do terrorists activities with proof in the others country. That simple fact as much as it gets glazed , spun - is not going away. There is no Baluchistan issue involving India and what happens in Kashmir is India's sovereign land. Acts of misjudgments get taken care of by it's judiciary... just like when you arti bomb the north west parts of Pakistan and have F-16's bomb areas of civilian population. what you do to your citizens is your issue to rectify.

GAIL chipped out Rs. 13000 Crore for construction of Dahej-Vijaipur-Dadri-Bawana-Nangal-Bhatinda natural gas pipeline and out of the 31 MMSCMD capacity only 7.5 MMSCMD is being currently used.So GAIL wants too make some money from their Dahej and Dabhol Terminal and their unused pipeline capacity.Case.....

A 5 MTPA LNG Terminal costs around US$700 Dollars
