Tk.1,330/ton Transit Fee Proposed for Indian Goods

we are only taking tk. 1330($19) per ton for transit then what is the economic benefit of giving this transit which in-fact corridor . even if we are carrying 2500000 ton per year then we are not going to earn more then 48.56 million dollar so how we are going to benificial to this deal.
some of our so called buddi jibi were taking that by giving corridor/ transit we are going to become Singapore is this what we expect ? or we are simply fooled by our awami govt.

Can any one tell me is their any International stranded rate or any think like this for transit by respect to per KM ???

I think I have read somewhere that its about 0.09cents/km in EU. I might be wrong though, shall try and find the source.

.
Per km rate for any transit /corridor should be in accordance with the cost associated with the repairing and maintaining cost of road of the host country .
as for Bangladesh India transit i think in this negligible amount we are getting or demanding will be eaten by the repairing and maintaining cost so the end result is a big zero for Bangladesh

sirji try to find out any thing but not Europe or USA cause they have thousand time better infrastructure and roads that saves lot of oil and time

As I said before, the international standard for Highways is in terms of number of Axles per km, while the same for Railways is in GTKM (Gross Tonne per kilometer).

Hey aren't you the one in transport industry? Are you aware of "cabotage". Is this transit facility sort of a cabotage?

Naah, I'm from the transport infra industry, specifically project financing and structuring.

But as far as I understand, this facility would be cabotage if an Indian vehicle was transporting goods from one point in Bangladesh to another point in Bangladesh.

This service is more in the line of a port in Bangladesh providing docking facilities to international ships .......

Ah that makes sense, I tried reading about it online, but for some reason I couldn't understand the concept. I do now:tup: BTW is there any other case of one country providing transit to the other, similar to this one?

Roughly 4 Million tonnes of good is expectd to be transported through Bangladesh annually. At a rate if 19$/tonne, its 76 Million USD, which is equal to 10% of Bangladesh's annual Road and Highway budget. Refer to post #9.

India is a regional power that no other countries care or respect. Why do not you prove your point by sending a few divisions inside our country instead of begging for a transit? Even your military wants our troops to contribute to subdue your NE separatist movement. What kind of regional power is then this India? It is only a matter of time when your govt will request us to contribute in its war against the Maobadis.

Epic.

Someone please tell him even our Army is not involved in the fight against Maoists and that too from a country where their own forces dont think twice before killing each other

Has to be. I'm not sure of the modalities though. Let me find out and get back to you.

The road usage charges in Comesa ( Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa) are:

Big buses carrying more than 25 people ---------------> 5.0
Rigid Heavy Goods Vehicles ---------------------------> 6.0
Heavy Good Vehicle (HGV) with more than Three Axles--> 10.0

CHARGES PER 100 KM IN US$

Some countries in EU also levy road usage charges for heavy vehicles, the rates being around 9 to 36 Euro cents per kilometer.

I am against this corridor because well developed NE is not our best interest. Hasinia taking the path of Gaddari and next government will not be responsible to implement La-Hasina's Bharat nawaz policies. All should be cancle or renigotiate to bring the favor to serve the interest of Bangladeshi.
