Time for a quiet revolution in Bangladesh-Israeli relations

your chicken neck will be broken long before that.... so your whole NE india... keep dreaming....

@ How many times you will break their this tiny chicken neck ? You know Sami6108, on that I was reading one article there I find that in 1965 war the Pakistan Army deployed 1x Company size Commando at Thakurgaon in order to break this chicken neck. It was we donated this chicken neck to the Indian just to make a link with the North East. Most of the people who are staying there are muslims and in 1946 they voted for Pakistan.

@ Once the movement will start we need not do anything it will do "Khud ba khud". That is why they are very much fond of Hasina's favour. With her help they want to do rapid ecomomic development.

Another good one, just cause someone is Muslim doesn't mean they want to live in Bangladesh:lol: and I don't blame them.

we know it very well under developed NE India is always beneficial for Bangladesh until some sort of revolution breaks up over there due to poverty and hunger.... n treatment of local benglais of NE india will also contribute a lot to the revolution... This foolish indian politicians does not know that the more they are calling local bengalis illegal migrants they are more alienating them and planting a seed of separation... as within decades they will be majority... so far they are silent observer but then they will be revolutionist and the fire will be 100 of times more deadly then some present day separatist group.

lol some days ago Gen Mush also wanted Pakistan to make relation with Israel!

India has cordial relationship with Arab countries, Iran and Israel, infact Arabs are more easy with Israel's existence than Iran's!

These ummah thing will do you more harm than good, it's like communist calling for Bandh in Calcutta because America imposed sanction on Cuba! :hitwall:

From this forum I have learnt one thing. Pakistanis are a LOT more pragmatic than Bangladeshis. They at least have a debate over such issues.

Their views changes according to thread

Coming back to topic, this oft-repeated Indian nonsense that they are good friends with both Israel and Palestinians is getting ridiculous.

Israel and Palestine are not at the same level: one is a ruthless oppressor state backed by the world's superpowers, and the other is a bunch of people living in servitude.

It's like saying you are friends with a rapist and also his victim, because you give condoms to the rapist while giving a comfortable mattress to the victim.

Nobody who honestly supports the Palestinian people can ever be friends with Israel.

That is quite illogical comparison here. India till 1992 did not have diplomatic relations with Israel and only did so AFTER the camp david accors where PLO itself recognised the state of Israel in return for being recognised as PA by the Israelis.

India continues to be a bigger donor to Palestinians in terms of aid than either Pakistan or Bangladesh on a yearly basis.

And the first military sales relationship that Israel provided to India was during the Kargil War which happened thanks to Pakistani forces crossing the LoC. India was under a sanctions regime by most countries after the 1998 nuke tests and Israel and South Africa were the only few countries willing to provide weapons bypassing the sanctions.

Even now the official GoI policy is that Israel should withdraw to 1967 borders return Golan heights to Syria and create a Palestinian state under the two state solution. India also backs the Arab peace plan in thsi regard and this is similar to Turkey's stand for example which has diplomatic and defence relation with Israel much larger than India has.

. .
No where any bangladseshi said bangladesh want to take over NE India... it can only happen if the people of NE india want... as bengali people are now 45% and has ancestors from present day bangladesh and is likely to become majority in decades or so

Care to divulge the source for this piece of information?

@ Just for knowledge sake , in those days (1967) a contingent of PAF was stationed there to train the Jordanian Airforce and in times of crisis i.e, in 1967 war these Pakistani Pilots joined in the battle on behalf of Jordan. May be it was illegal but it was a fact. Colonel Farouque was also there in 1970 to train the Jordanian Army and from there Colonel Farouqe deflected and came to India and joined the liberation war.

Yes but the only ACE pilot was M M Alam who did it against India in 65.

There was another pilot from east Pakistan who did almost the same as M. M. Alam did in the 1965 Pak-Indo war. Flt. Lt. Safiul Alam was inducted in the Jordanian Air Force. In the 1967 war, he alone had destroyed 4 Israeli planes within 72 hours. The planes were of different make. His record has not yet been broken. He came back to Dhaka after the liberation.

It's funny when sub-continental people talk about ill-fate of Palestinians when Palestine is far ahead of sub-continent in HDI. I mean expressing solidarity and candle light march is ok, but sub-continent should fix their own problems first before trying to help Palestinians.

Why are people so much fascinated by the radical views ???. Why can't BD be pragmatic in it's approach towards other nations. None of the so-called "Muslim Brothers" helped the people of BD in it's struggle against the atrocities being committed by the Pak army. Even after it's independence Arabs have never ever helped BD either in it's development or it's disputes with Myanmar. BD citizens are treated as 3rd class denizens in Arab countries. And how much did the Arabs doled out for the victims of various cyclones in BD starting from "Bhola cyclone".

All this talk of muslim brotherhood is nonsensical to say the least. Countries like Egypt, Jordan, Turkey take the pragmatic approach towards their relations with other countries. They are aware that the biggest adversaries of muslims are muslims themselves. Be it Saudi Arabia vowing for the blood of Iranians or Iraq attacking Kuwait or Pak playing games with lives of Afghanis or Sunni-Shia conflict around the muslim world. These so called muslims will never ever speak a word against the Chinese govt. when they are oppressing the muslims brutally in Xinxiang. Why ??? Because they see the Chinese money that will be used to buy their crude oil and/or the Chinese aid for strategic purposes.

Whatever that Israel is doing is wrong and maybe even brutal. But it knows well about how to exploit the fissures between these muslim nations to play them against each other. Israel can never ever be defeated. Those who dream of defeating Israel are either daydreaming or simply rambling. Some countries like Egypt, Jordan, Turkey recognized this and took this practical view to form diplomatic and/or military relations with Israel. BD would be stupid if it doesn't recognize it soon enough and continued with it's 3rd grade treatment by the muslims. If it does continue to follow the present policy then it must also recognize the struggle of the Chinese muslims and have a stature in international politics. Till then it would simply be treated the way it is being treated, which is nothing to write about.

It's upto the people of BD to realize this and move towards forming better relations with Israelis. You never know how much helpful they could be in your disputes against Myanmar as well as in augmenting your strategic capabilities.

All the Muslim governments who recognize Israel are not democratic and do not represent the wishes of their people, except Turkey.
It was the anti-Israel Hamas who won democratic elections against the Israeli stooges in PLO.
Mubarak made peace with Israel for USD 2 billion/year even though 95% of Egyptians consider Israel an enemy,
Turkey only made peace with Israel to improve its chances of getting into EU. They are getting wiser now.

India's lip service to Palestinian rights is just a disingenuous ploy to placate the Muslims within and outside India. It doesn't matter how much aid India gives to the Palestinians as "blood money", the fact is that, at the end of the day, Palestinians are killed and subjugated by a military which is backed financially and technologically by India in some part.

It's a matter of principle. Israel is the embodiment of religious apartheid, enshrined within its very constitution, and is engaged in subjugation of the Palestinian people.

There can be no compromise with such an entity. It's like saying it's OK to do business with the Nazis as long as you donate some money to Jewish charities.

Would you switch places with a Palestinian?
Having to go through several humiliating checkpoints every day on your way to/from work?
Never knowing when an Israeli military raid might happen overhead?

All this talk of muslim brotherhood is nonsensical to say the least.

Support for Palestinian rights has nothing to do with religion. It's a matter of human rights.
There are many non-Muslims, including Jews, who support Palestinian rights against Israel.
By the same token, there are Muslims who support Israel unconditionally.

It's upto the people of BD to realize this and move towards forming better relations with Israelis. You never know how much helpful they could be in your disputes against Myanmar as well as in augmenting your strategic capabilities.

Some people's principles are not for sale.

Look. Israel, whether you like it or not, is here to stay. It is a functioning democracy, admirably stable, and quite nationalistic. My question to muslims is, why bother with things that do not concern you directly? Live and let live. I have no beef with the israelis, and therefore i am not going to swell up with "righteous anger" like bullfrog. I suggest you do the same. It makes your life easier and more productive.

India's military collaboration with Israel pales in comparison to Turkey.

Also since you're talking about constitutional religious freedom, Muslims are free to profess their religion in Israel, in contrast to Pakistan's all-weather where they are not allowed to attend prayer in mosques before 18. So is it considered to be Dar-ul-Harb or Dar-ul-Aman. ;)

But you'd not bat an eyelid because for you the interest of your country comes first, just as Indians. So better we come down from the moral high ground and compare the contribution of State of Pakistan and State of India to Palestinians.
