What's new

Tim Horton set any new single day global sales record in 61 years

How does DHA work though, are people who don't live there or own a house there allowed in, is it like a gated community or what?
What? ofcourse lol, most people who go to DHA for leisurely activities aren't even from there

All the businesses in DHA would go bankrupt if they make it for residents only, it's a city within a city

Why don't they invest in businesses in DHAs, Tim's is doing good they could attempt local versions

Good governance is a must.
Someone tell these socialists clowns about the jobs being created by this one branch of Tim Hortons. Ask the employees of Tim Horton's about this, I can guarantee you that all of them will be grateful to Tim Hortons for providing them with a job.

DHA Lahore is literally half of Lahore. It's always open and it welcomes everyone. I go there regularly to party with friends.
I think DHA isn't that bad then like people here constantly complain, just as long as tax is being paid, greenery/environment preserved and the process is done legally.

And not to mention tax revenue.

Wealth inequality will always exist, personally I'm pro-capitalism because it fuels innovation and competitiveness, but a little regulation from the government is fine, related to perhaps minimum wage laws.

Our goal shouldn't be to have completely equal distribution of wealth, some people work harder and deserve more.

The goal should be to make sure everyone has access to basic services and equal opportunities, that's it. Apart from that let the free market economy and capitalism thrive.

The issue here isn't that there are people who can afford Timmies in Pakistan.

Rather, we want to see the books of those who own that Timmies (plus other chains from multi-national brands). Factors like Ishaq Dar's artificial PKR pegging (in the previous PML-N government), rent-seeking, collusion between the parties and their top benefactors, etc, are the problem. These factors basically amount to a subsidy for the elite that's sucking Pakistan dry.

In my opinion unequal distribution of wealth will always exist, but our goal should be to make sure at the very least that everyone has access to basic amenities and can live their life comfortably, with access to the same opportunities as others.
Certainly, the rich-poor divide will always exist. At least we should try to make it so the poor have a dignified life where they don't have to line up for friggin' flour in an agrarian country while people are lining up for a 5k cup of coffee.

That's the only practical course of action. After all, no one wants communism. Right, @jamahir?

PTI was also pathetic like the rest. Rent-seekers were also given an amnesty by IK, that too in a sector as unproductive as real estate. This is what happens when our leaders appoint retarded accountants like Ishaq Dar and Shaukat Tarin instead of top-tier economists like Atif Mian.

For that to happen, you need to implement policies that attract FDI and make it easier to run businesses.

The state should only work to address the very basic needs of its citizens, by working to create an environment where people can find employment to earn livable salaries to put food on their table and a roof over their head. As well as providing free education for the children. And ensuring everyone has equal opportunities in life.

Apart from that let capitalism thrive, the competitiveness will inevitably lead to innovation, invention, higher quality and perhaps lower prices. If there are any issues that arise you can place minor regulations & rules in the markets/industries.

As an urban guy I went through village phase after seeing way too many village lifestyle vlogs on YouTube - but I grew out of it so there's hope for Great Janjua

Although I still plan on retiring somewhere in rural Punjab, that'll be my ideal go to retirement spot- smoking hookah, taking care of my goats and cows, seeing my Fields and a manly end, not in a hospital somewhere but on my own land
I was born and raised in a village its not a phase but ingrained in my blood city dwellers don't get the feeling of being in a pind the tree shades, the endless fields. Apna Graan Howe toota di Cha Howe Vaan di manjhi Howe sir thale baah Howe 💪

Why do Pakistanis always vilify their affluent?
Kalay anghrez have no place in PK should just F off to some western country and do their transgender stuff there.

There are a lot of Papa John’s here.

I can probably find dozens of examples like this. In my research for some Team USA threads I'd stumble upon it often.

Speaking of Ice Cream there's only 2 Dairy Queens in my entire state and they are all an hour away.
