What's new

This is very much Zia's Pakistan, the most influential man after Jinnah

.
Just because the party is "not religious", doesn't mean the people it is run by, or those who make it policies are not influenced religious forces/factors.
ANP and MQM are the only two parties I'll say that are non religious. The rest have varying degrees of "religiosity". Not that there's anything wrong with being religious.

Well, when the parliament people themselves don't know surah iklas...

.
Zia got what he deserves a death for his crimes in my book giving credit to people who give priority to chair is crimnal act

. . . . .
You know what I'm happy about ? That people don't remember him . Don't talk about him even on his death anniversary.

Its the best thing that could be done to an evil man. Just delete his existence .
On one hand you've a point we should delete existence of such a person but otoh i think no we should tell our future generations that what kind of an evil he was what he did and that they should never accept such a person if in the future we get someone as evil as him.
@Hell hound @Zibago

.
A simple read through his speeches makes that clear. Regarding the armed forces, he said, “Do not forget that the armed forces are the servants of the people. You do not make national policy; it is we, the civilians, who decide these issues and it is your duty to carry out these tasks with which you are entrusted.” Military coups make a mockery of that statement.

What's the about a coup where the people support, no, demand it? Then in free elections elect the "dictator"?

.
I still have no idea what was so damn evil about him?

Like what's the general idea behind this Zia hate?

Not the usual rhetoric.

Like honestly nothing has changed to this day as in 71 or 77

My father's experience before Zia: No one cared about asking other's religion, got along well with each other despite religious differences and people's patriotism wasn't questioned.

Experience after Zia: What's your religion? What's your sect? Why? You are kafir etc etc, get the pitchforks. You are cancer blah blah blah.

Zia even accepted his laws increased sectarianism in this country, but lets all bury our heads in sand and praise him. He was such a hypocrite, called Ahmadis cancer on one hand and regularly went to an Ahmadi high ranking medical officer who even carried out an operation on him. Called us traitors yet still trusted one of us to do his operation, because he KNEW of our integrity. I am sorry I show such a hypocrite no respect.

I don't like him for giving Afghans freedom of movement and an endless stay in Pakistan. This led to the Kalashnikov culture, and introduced heroin.

Uncontrolled madrassas.

Laws that were incomplete and easily taken advantage of.
