What's new

This is how PAF Flies

i love to have pizza dropped off in jf17 it should be quick and pizza still hot.

Several things come to mind.

1. Looks like Pakistani version of Mach loop.
2. @Foxtrot Delta stole my words :) This type of flying is essential against radar threats. Using mountains as protection, reach near the enemy, perform a fast pull, release ALCM, and scramble, potentially under the cover of mountains again.
3. They need to practice high speed flying amongst these mountains. Even hold 1v1 1vmany exercises here.
4. Conversely, PAF needs good radar coverage here so that the enemy cannot use these approaches against us.
Not even close to the Pakistani version of Mach Loop and not even close to low level flying that they do sometimes in the West part of the country. Said here is a B model I believe but the Falcons (squadron) jocks fly a lot more low level (bunch of their new guys got trained from UPT straight to Vipers with USAF)....

Vipers forever (and hopefully 9-er) !!!

Cheers !!!

Well I was referring to the terrain more than the actual flying, even if it isn't a complete loop. It's reminiscent, is all I implied.

I'd put that at 500 ft above terrain. No way the jocks go lower than that. If you don't have a video it didn't happen :P

And just because I am in a rebellious, anti-establishment, anti-Viper-Elitism mood, "Thunders forever until Vipers wipe their hangers"

:P :P :P

.
Imagine the complexity of trying to defend against an Indian attack through these valleys.. and for them to do the same.
Although weather makes it hazardous for any aircraft in this area.

If i am not wrong even American Air force had trouble due to terrain in Afghanistan , Operating in vast mountains and valley's where Radars and other electronic equipment don't work like they should .

That's OK, each to their own. Seen both in action, and been fortunate to see things by sight rather than having it filmed on camera. I hope one day you see it too.

Cheers !!!

One has to also give credit to the chap flying as GIBS (Guy In the Back Seat) who captured the flight very intelligently without revealing the cockpit, HUD repeater readings, bearings, intercom frequencies and radar modes.

PAF F-16 practising bombing run.

How can you tell its a bombing run, besides whoever put the title on the youtube clip? Seems like they are flying pretty high for a bombing run, and if they are practicing using LGBs etc, no way to tell from the video.

Very easy, the pilot approaches the designated area, lines up, runs in for practice bomb release and pulls up sharply.
