What's new

This Indian Muslim Cow trader is tied to a pole and beaten & told to become a Hindu.

Two nation theory is alive and ticking, the evidence is right above. This is why we split in the first place.

How is it alive? That theory held that Muslims were one nation, no one believes that. Can't cherry pick. You have now reduced the 2 nation theory to cow traders involved in an illegal racket. Some theory.

You were in denial in 1901 - 1906 - 1916 - 1940 until the REALITY struck you in 1947 however it didn't break your bubble.

Wasn't the Two-nation theory the entire basis of the Partition?

Seems pretty successful for a "dead horse".

Dead horse in 2015. The fact that people feel the need to justify something some 67 years later is what makes news. Partition was the outcome of the theory, further partition into 2 states on the basis of reasons not connected to religion was its death knell.

Remember 1971? Closer in history. All the fighting now happening in your country? Among Muslims?

Well I've seen a lot of Indians saying the Two-nation theory is invalid, but does that mean they think the Partition was wrong? Since the Partition was based on the Two-nation theory?

Theoretically many Indians oppose the concept of partition since it is anathema to the notion of what is now(post-1947) the basis of the Indian state -that of a multi-religious state. Can hardly ever accept that the Muslims of India(now that the Pakistanis or Bangladeshis are no more our concern) are not capable of living with the rest of the Indians.

Most Indians except for the very few on the left are thankful for partition because of the recognition that an larger entity would have most likely been nonviable & would have had a higher level of religious tension. The idea behind partition will always be questioned but not many Indians would ever want to undo it.

Do not worry guys, its Hindus standing up for their rights against those sickular people..

Two nation theory is well and alive and even was in 1971. If not, Bangladesh would have got annexed into the greater India, which it did not. Indira was a boaster when she assumed the two nation theory was drowned in the bay of Bengal.

Obviously it is not the 2 nation theory. The argument was that Muslims of the subcontinent were one nation, not multiple nations. Since Bangladesh is a secular nation, that theory has been binned by people who originally separated on that very basis.
