This could be my last fight in America: Boxer Amir Khan takes a jab at Donald Trump

Khan made an obvious reference to Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims from America and build a wall on the US-Mexico border

Rumour is trump will be attending the fight!

Two boxers — one a British-Pakistani Muslim, the other Mexican — are to exchange blows in the ring at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on Saturday, but not before they shared a laugh at their mutual 'enemy', Donald Trump.

The boxers in question, Amir Khan and Canelo Alvarez, were addressing a press conference when Khan quipped to the press, "You never know, this could be the last fight for me and Canelo here. That’s if Donald Trump becomes president.”

Between Khan’s Muslim background and Alvarez's Mexican origins, the joke became the comment of the day.

Khan had made an obvious reference to Trump’s proposal to ban Muslims from America and build a wall on the U.S. Mexico border.

According to USA Today, it has been announced that Trump, who became the last man standing in the race for the Republican Presidential nomination the same day Khan made this comment, will be attending the fight.

Could Trump win?

Had opposition been better than Hillary, he certainly would have lost; but AFAIK, Hillary herself is quite a hated figure in USA and then there are charges of treason against her (based on E-mails) so there is a chance that Trump may pull through.

What is ground reality in USA? I do not trust media as media persons are agenda driven lying scums (who would obviously hate Trump), everywhere they are not directly controlled by government. If controlled by government, they are lying propagandists.

How long do you want us to stay there killing people ? It gets boring after a while. We kill a shitload of kooks and and another shitload of kooks crosses over from Pakistan. You guys have a lot of kooks.

I think more pertinent is that whosoever wins in US, there seems to be fast approaching a time where, either of the candidates, who have publicly decried the role of Pakistan in fomenting trouble and maintain terror infrastructure even to detriment of American lives and interests, will have to start taking a more resolute action against this rogue nation once elected as President. The important point is that now even publicly the Americans have started signaling out Pakistan as being a problem (which we Indians have always told was the case) and not being part of the solution. The election statements by both have been too open and straightforward to allow them to backtrack easily.

The Iran deal allows the US to have Iran along with it indirectly as increasingly the role of Pakistan is coming under scrutiny and also publicly the pressure will mount on the next US president to do something about it, what with so many American lives lost in Afghanistan and the country still de-stabilized and mounting violence with resurgent Taliban pointing to direct funding/support by Pakistan. Iran has the interest in a destabilized Pakistan as the nuclear arsenal which exists in Pakistan is allowing the Saudi 'adventurism' which collide with Iranian interests. For US, the added benefit of an unstable Pakistan will be the effects on CPEC and application of pressure on Chinaon another front. The benefits and drawbacks for India have been flogged to death so wont get into that.

Intriguing times ahead. The only question is: will the next US president take action to defang Pakistan and destabilize it on lines of Syria?

The incentives are tremendous for US to do that ......

He could be right and Trump represents the thinking of vast majority of Americans who also responsible for his rise or maybe future POTUS.
