What's new

This Chinese laundry detergent commercial is jaw-droppingly racist

It used to be that liquids were inferior to powder. The gap has closed significantly. Plus if you do a cold water wash for colored clothes the powder is not going to dissolve as well vs a hot or warm wash for whites.

Powder still has a better price though.

Yeah, noticed that powder is a little cheaper than liquid for the most part.

I've used powder a couple of times in the past, but liquid is always my first choice.

@AndrewJin , I prefer liquid because of convenience of use.

Yup people look too much into "racist" commercials. If Hollywood want to pay me a good sum of money to do a stereotypical Asian commercial, I'm all for it.

Funny thing about the laundry commercial is that black people are not the ones bitching about it. It's mainly "morally" superior westerners and brainwashed Chinese who are offended by it because they are morally superior than the rest of us "racists"

Did anyone even ask the black man in the commercial. He know what it's about but did the commercial because he's wise. He knows money is king--sympathy and being morally superior in values cannot buy you anything in life

Sure he did it for the money. He is not that stupid. But it means he also knows what kind of society is your China. Am sure YOU must be very proud that Chinese racism against blacks is alive and well.

You do realize a competitor brand is going to toss that Chinese guy into the machine and guess who comes out...

Alec Baldwin or Sean Connery should come out.

Actually what is going to happen is a competitor is going to hire that guy. The scene will be two women being annoyed by that guy because he is dirty/rough/hitting on them.. They both toss him in the machine and out pops the lady from the original commercial.

If you guys really have some weird desire for a white guy to pop out..they could have Justin Bieber poke his head out and they jam him back in for another cycle.

Do you guys prefer washing powder or liquid?
Liquid no doubt, plus it's easier to just wipe off spilled liquid detergent.
Cleaning off washing powder can be a havoc, especially when it gets partially mixed with water and becomes all icky under your nails :fie:.

Ask a black person if the police treat them the same like White in the US. Talking about a big mouth preaching racism. LOL

China is not in the same league like the US when it comes to racism against blacks.
You are correct in that -- not in the same league. When even Republicans have black Presidential candidates, your China has much to learn from US.

I wonder how big is the African population in China? Maybe 1% or Less??

According to Sigmund Floyd, everyone born Racist and Sexist. Simply you prefer your own kind, if you are a dude, your best friend is probably a dude, the same if you are a girl. Same goes racial trait, were your best friend a white, black or Asian?

You cannot compare the scale of racism in the US then in China, simply there aren't too many black for normal everyday Chinese to discriminate about. If Chinese get the percentage of black people in the US, would you think the racism problem would be better or worse then the US?

Really not much point to pretend this problem is not happening in China. You are simply just lying to yourself

When I was having an exchange program in Australia, I found my homestay family using washing powder for washing machine. Similarly, there are actually four types of products here, powder for hand-wash, powder for washing machines, liquid for hand-wash(often called hand-wash free liquid, not for washing machines), liquid for washing machines. o_O

How I find it amusing that, PDF non-white Americans here with some extent of dark-skin are so into speaking for their white masters. Stockholm syndrome?

I also find comments from Indian websites, how they make racist comments towards black people when they themselves are more and less black. It's like self-racism.

Same here :D....

why do you need handwash if you have a machine?
Certain people can't afford washing machines, I'm talking in general.
And there are certain garments that need to be hand-washed.
