What's new

This Chinese laundry detergent commercial is jaw-droppingly racist

Racism raised its ugly head in China. Strict anti racism laws should be put in place and those morons should be harshly punished.

But probably this TV commercial was made by a woman. Chinese girls are half of China but you sound like they are Chinese men's belongs. This TV commercial has nothing to do with gender issues. It's just pure racism.
No China is an Asian country and western freedom of women concepts don't exist as such I guess.
Chinese men do face acute shortage of women to marry, thanks to one child policy.
So yes Chinese men are fiercely in competition with any foreign men who want to come and steal a Chinese fair maid.

You don't know what you are talking about, Chinese women have more rights than men now. Chinese women have much more freedom than any women on this planet. Asians are not all the same. 90s is a distant memory , welcome to the 21st century.

Well maybe now as I haven't been there since Hong Kong became part of China. It used to be funny to see Hong Kong people coming to mainland China on their officially organized familiarization trips.

But the other thing I am mentioning, shortage of Chinese women to marry, is a real thing and stands true even today.

Statistically yes, but in real life, no, never felt it. Actually one of the hottest topic in China now is "leftover" women.

Seriously?
So is it possible to marry a Chinese woman for a foreigner?
In 90s I tried and failed. Only ended up spending loads of money trying to appease her parents by taking them on shopping trips to Guangzhou

What if the magical washing machine becomes real? I guess dark sink people will madly buy it. See, This is common view of human. People don't like dark skin no matter you are from Africa or anywhere. Why would we hide this real feeling. Political correctness?

I don't know, but until WW2 in many parts of India and Africa a light skin new born will be coated with special oils and left in the sun regularly to have dark skin.
Going back further, when first British traders came to Moghul courts, people made fun of them on their white skin.

It not only changed his skin color but also changed him into chinese physical and facial feature.

Me too found it in real life.
Most my male friends after 30 married, but a lot of girls(?) after 30 still not.

Dark skin(if you were born with light skin) is closely linked to farming and low-skilled labor.
It's a general subconscious view in China, not really about races.

People like girls in Chongqing, largely because they have impeccable light skin, not that kind of unhealthy Caucasian style of colour. If you have the Caucasian style of white skin(become red in sunlight and have big holes and wrinkle since very young age and too much skin hair), people will think you unhealthy and maybe have some kind of diseases similar to albinism. Girls found in Chongqing have perfect skin, quite different from white girls. White girls' skin looks good from afar, but you get a closer look, Chinese will get completely shocked.

Han Chinese girls are 100% against adding their husbands' family name even in the remotest village.
More and more children are named after their mothers' family name.
Many men do housework and cooking more than their wives, especially in cities like Shanghai and Chongqing where men have no status in family at all.
In my family, my dad cooks much much more than my mother and my mother is jobless with pensions and traveling around.
You can't just assume because you are from a muslim society in an Asian country.
Asia is far more diverse compared to Europe, Africa and America.
