Two points, first, there exists constitutional safeguards to preserve the linguistic minorities in India vis-à-vis BD. The Bhasha Andolan in Assam that I talked of earlier is a case in point.

Secondly, no one in India will be in a disadvantageous spot w.r.t employment and opportunities if they do not speak Hindi. That is guaranteed by our constitution. Can you say the same for BD?

Bangladesh also tries to preserve the language of minorities. No one is forced to speak in Bangla. Even tribals get books in their own language. For India it's different. There are so many languages...that it is in no way comparable to Bangladesh. Lets say won't you find it hard to land a job in USA if you don't know English? Heck even in Bangladesh if you don't know English well, it will hard to get a decent job. What about the rest? China...and others?

That long demanded measure as I had already mentioned in an earlier post, though has been approved belatedly, is a step in the right direction and is commendable. I know for a fact that the tribals have a working knowledge of Bangla which should be sufficient in most instances, but your government felt the need to bengalify tribal customs and practices that's what irks me.

Nonetheless, next logical step should be to delineate constitutional provisions so that their rights are not transgressed arbitrarily.

You are so busy in quoting 2013 data but in 2017 report UN had thrown out such heresy, lie and propaganda. You quoted about some survey, right? Who conducted survey and what was the sample size? We want a cosmopolitan society not a segregated society. That's the goal and our tribes are falling in line with that. Time for roaming around in the hills with only Jhum cultivation is over.

Fine, but it should apply to both the sides equally in my opinion. You can not make them join the Mongol Sobhajatra while you are ignorant of their festivities Boishabi and Bijhu. Cosmopolitanism doesn't work that way, does it?

They get equal publicity of their own festival. Just visit Cox's bazar during the time of Bhiju and you will see more bengalis in the festival than the tribes themselves.

It was refreshing to see the good natured, fun loving folks enjoying. Cultural interaction is so very important for maintaining ethnic harmony and participating in festivals are one way of ensuring that.

Does the 2017 report the destination of Bangladeshi immigrants ? It only says that there are 7 million Bangladeshi immigrants..

You can cry like a river but fact is a fact. Foreign ministry of Bangladesh protested such hereasy and propaganda of 3.2 million Bangladeshi living in India that is why it was not included in 2017 report. Why do you think the largest block of migrant in the world disappeared in report? Lol. I am quoting a former Foreign Ministry Secretary who said it in a talk saw India entered the data and we had to protest to remove it from later reports.

Bangladeshi representive was not present when earlier report was prepared based on false data supplied by Hindu extremist of India. To date no one knows how many Bangladeshi lives in India or vice versa. In 2004 one Indian minister claimed 12 million Bangladeshis lives in India later denounced it say it was based on hereasy and unreliable data. If your minister can say something like that at the parliament and later denounce it, there is no credibility what India says about the issue.

It is not even mentioned yet how the initial figure of 3.2 million was published and what is the source of it. No doubt some Hindus migrated to India and any such figure contain mostly Hindus.
