What's new

There is no unity among people in Pakistan.

. . . . .
I have seen number of sell out traitor news channels and anchors trying to program our youth that pak is finished this and that like geo channel. but this country is not Yugoslavia Pakistan is a tight knit community and people are wiser. plus no electricity not much tv brainwashing lolz.

I think the Frenchman in the OP needs to worry more about French social issues than worry about his false and imaginary assumptions about Pakistan. According to Le Pen and NF, the French race is dying out because of low birth rates and because of many French girls converting to Islam, marrying Muslims and having Muslim babies. This should be his concern. Let us worry about Pakistan.
Pakistani unity lies in Islam. And in Islam alone. Most Pakistanis don't hate India as a nation as much as it hates the influence of Hindus and Sikhs etc. For example, Pakistan would have had no issue with Kashmir being Indian if India was a Muslim country. The French author has got the effect correct but not been able to correctly identify the main cause.

If Pakistan wants to move ahead, it should consider abolishing the dual system it follows. It should steer clear from secular law, it got Partitioned for a reason. So the Shariah should ideally have been made law long back. There is still time. A truly Islamic society is the only hope for lasting Pakistani unity. Pakisanis should not forget ke Pakistan ka matlab kya h.

Pakistani unity also lies in our shared and unique racial identity of our nation which foreigners don't understand. We never had this shared racial heritage with bangladesh hench the events of 1971.

What is you racial identity? Or the thread that binds you together?

What racial link does a Pashtun have with a Sindhi?

Or a Baloch with a Punjabi?

Versus

What is the racial link between a Pakistani Pashtun and an Afghan Pashtun.

Or a Pakistani Baloch and an Iranian Baluchi/Sistani?

The only thing keeping India and Pakistan togather is the legacy of Briitish Raj. Both Pakistan and Indian Republic are "Made in Britain".

And don't start friggin crapping on about India as a geoghraphy. That geography and space has existed since time began. We are talking about nation states and feeling of belonging to identity.

Look at this map soon after the British arrived.

Any decent person would find that offensive. The racial mixing that created your unique racial unity was due to scores of bloody invasions. If you want to celebrate that, sure go ahead. We are not going to stop. We will just read about your posts online and sip a cup of tea. :)

The author couldn't be more wrong......... if you look closely enough at our collective psyche, it's actually adversity that binds us close together. More adverse the situation, more close-knit we are. This maybe the factual definition of unity. I have seen no nation on this planet with such a psyche.

I would like to ask the author, if all of a sudden France had no electricity for 18 hours a day (day in - day out - for years), what would happen to French unity / society? The devil is in the details.

We are what we are. Imperfect in all possible meanings of the world, however, one thing I can assure everyone is that we are united in the face of all hardships and peristent-evils that surround our geographical boundaries.

They all speak languages that come from differant families, look differant, differant cultures, most have not even interacted with each other and don't even share the same geography. So if these 100s of differant friggin people who could come from other side of the world can have "unity in diversity" why can't a justcouple of ethinc groups in Pakistan who have a common history and shared space be togather?

The Pashtun. Punjabis, Sindhi and Baloch all live within the greater Indus basin and are contigous to each other. There are no clear lines of separation as each group slowly blends and emerges along the shared zones.

Well, give it time.

I've had 1300 years.

You've had merely 25.
I have doubts now about that. Persia was lost when Islam was a growing power. Now Islam as a civilization has been on a decline for over 4 centuries. And this crying out for lost glory, the desperate desire to hold on to the past, the bravado, the fanaticism is all symptomatic of the inability to come to terms with the present.

From here, the lot of the non Muslim World can only improve, albeit with a great deal of bloodshed on both sides.

Everyone gets united against an adversary. That's no measure of unity.

Unity comes from the shared belief of people in the method of handling disputes, of how different interest groups should compete in a fair manner. In other words political representation for different people, irrespective of their relative size.

I'll go on to say that through India's admittedly flawed democratic system in which we all believe in, we have done a reasonable job of making everyone a stakeholder in the idea of India.

BTW LOL @ people taking racial crap. Sorry but such stupidity is truly mindboggling. If everybody was ''same'' then why even discuss unity? Some insecure people just turn every thread into an opportunity for declaring their taller fairer stronger genes I guess.

I did not claim that India stayed together because of racial unity. :)

The devil is in the detail Atanz.
