Iranians and Pakistani cultures date for thousands of years.

Achaemenid, Parthian, Sassanian, Samanid, Saffarid, Buyid, Seljuk, Khwarazmian, Ghurid, Safavid, Mughal etc... were not arab.

ahem... mughals were hindostani/hindustani/indian ( they saw themselves that way ), as was tipu sultan, as were the bahmanis[1]... :D
The Bahmani dynasty believed that they descended from Bahman, the legendary king of Iran. The Bahamani Sultans were patrons of the Persian language, culture and literature, and some members of the dynasty became well-versed in that language and composed its literature in that language.[4]

These sultanates certainly contributed to the further development of India’s regional cultures. Some of these sultanates made important contributions to the development of the regional languages. The sultans of Bijapur recognised Marathi as a language in which business could be transacted. The sweeping conquest of India by Islamic rulers, epitomized by the far-flung military campaigns of the Delhi sultans, was thus in direct contrast with the regional aspect of the above-mentioned ventures. The coexistence of Islamic rule with Hindu rule in this period added a further dimension to this regionalisation.

The craftspersons of Bidar were so famed for their inlay work on copper and silver that it came to be known as Bidri.

see you tomorrow, sir... must log-off.

Don't forget that you will not ever see any Indian posting a word against Akbar or against APJ Abdul Kalam.
Ever wondered why???
yes i know why because they were not Muslims ..akbar was the follower of his own religion called deen e ilahe as far addul kalam we all know :D yea sorry for dragging we get back to languages :)

It's good. I hope we Iranians and Pakistanis approximate our relations as much as our common culture is close.

Saudia is just 80 years old and before that it's ruled by Kurds and Ottomans for 7 centuries, we should ignore Saudia.

Their culture is Najdi (Saudi family) and it has no base in arabic and Islamic cultures.

Iranians and Pakistani cultures date for thousands of years.

Medes, Achaemenid, Parthian, Sassanian, Samanid, Saffarid, Buyid, Ayubid, Seljuk, Khwarazmian, Ghurid, Safavid, Mughal etc... were not arab.
sorry dude i dont keep any enmity towards any Muslim no matter which race they belong. I know you Iranians and saudi dont get along well and i think Pakistan should have good relationship with boht countries without picking any side and also i think iran and saudi boht should not support militancy and extremism in their sect as hate this sunni shia killing of ecah others in pakistan/irqa and else where and often blame goes to sudia and iran for backing them. I am sure you also judge people on individual basis. Irani is my freind brother if he is not arrogant and same is true with arab if he is not riding on high horses and treat me with respect and dignity

Arabs can't spell these four letters: P (pakistan) Ch (chair) Zh (Jupiter) G (goal)

So they use similar letters for P, like B and F
For example Arabs call Pakistan = Bakistan
Tipu = Tibu

Good info.

Indians similarity can't pronounce Kh like khan,Z etc etc.

We have thousands of words that have: Sa Se So Su Si etc...

Parsi/Farsi itself has S.

Sassanian empire has 'Sa'

Simurgh has 'Si'

Etc.....

Sohrab,Surkhab,Shahpar etc

But sometime common word is used for whole different purpose ... i.e. حمل / Hamal is also used for Pregnancy in Urdu, And you can imagine what will come into mind of Pakistani when he see this sign board on road.

Hamal is for carrying. Hamali is a porter. Pregnancy and towing are both carrying. So the word is not exactly a different meaning.

Interesting thing is majority of Indians will not understand..
I though even Pakistanis won't understand that. Because it is Farsi and not Urdu.

No problem with that, but ask your compatriots to stop blabbering that difference between Urdu and Hindi is just script.
Well they are corruptions of essentially the same base language. One got corrupted by Farsi and the other by Sanskrit.

I already can understand an article from its heading. that too without any learning but i cant speak, i am sure learning farsi/dari is more easy for Pakistanis then any other foreign language :) i think same for urdu. Most Afghani can speak and write urdu. it wont be difficult for any Iranian if s/he try. I saw Hamid Karzai speaking urdu for media interviwe in Pakistan. @2800
FYI Karzai lived in Pakistan for 5-10 years.

Does Persian have any letter which sounds "sa"?
I have heard the reason why they switched to calling Indian subcontinent "Hindustan" was because they could not pronounce "sa", so Sindhu became Hindu.
Avestan(Old Iranian) was the language in use then. Avenstan had no usage of sa. Hence the usage of Ha for Sa.

The letters are written from right to left and are not connected. Ligatures (e.g., šk,šc, št, ša) are rare and clearly of secondary origin. A point (dot) is used to indicate the end of a word or the end of the first member of a compound, no distinction being made between the two. The letters have almost the same shapes in all manuscripts. Only some Indian manuscripts show peculiarities: H2 (A.D. 1415), S1 and J9 (14/15th century A.D.)

What are the replacements for Chair Jupiter and Goal?

Although only Muhajirs speak Urdu which are 8% of Pakistan population.

What? That's news to me. I am not ethnically a Muhajir, yet all my family speaks Urdu fluently.

Apart from jokes Persian and Urdu have many common words. Even Urdu script is a branch of Nastaliq script.

One of members in this forum @B@KH told me Persian has been an official language in Pakistan until 1960.

Like @LoveIcon said, it was not an "official" language but it was taught extensively in Pakistani schools and that generation can still speak and understand it, ( my father can).

And the reason why I personally love persian is because my great grandfather was a scholar of persian (and arabic) and official translator of court documents in the Nizam of Hyderabad.

I though even Pakistanis won't understand that. Because it is Farsi and not Urdu.

No it's mostly Urdu. 90% of the words used in the anthemn are a part of Urdu vocabulary. :coffee:
