What's new

The United States wants the people of Bangladesh to elect their leaders freely

You better ask IK why did he visit Russia at a precarious time like the Russia-Ukraine war. Was it to trade in the Rouble with Russia, or to get oil?

What is your idea about the fall and killing of Saddam Hossain and Gaddafi? They were moving to replace the dollar with the Euro.

Your MPs did not like the IK policy and voted against him. It is democracy. Why do not see how many times there have been changes in the UK? All because of democracy.

BD has no reason to follow what IK did. But, it needs a strongly founded democracy.

Thanks for making me understand democracy

@Bengal71

Ekattor Dada,

Totally ignore this idiot.

While I completely disagree with Jamahir sb's (@jamahir) political views, I consider him to be a very decent and intelligent interactor.

@jamahir

It weren't Socialist / Communist NoKo and Cuba that suffered 4+ million deaths because of COVID.

Maybe. But even if NoKo was to open its borders to immigration, I dont see Indians (let alone SoKo folks) making a beeline for it.

Regards

Indians won't make a beeline for NoKo because they have been given wrong information by media guided by White House and No. 10 Downing Street. My own brother doesn't know. He speaks disparagingly and wrongly of "That fat ruler who feasts while his people starve". He speaks so because he isn't a questioning person and decided to accept only that information about NoKo that Indian media presented ( "North Korea ka taanashah" and all that ) or BBC and co. presented. In North Korea housing is provided by the system and this my brother doesn't know. My brother also doesn't know and doesn't bother about the below news from India which being an entirely money-based society oppressed an unemployed man so much that he decided to kill himself and his wife and children including for reasons that they didn't have money to pay the installments for their house because unlike North Korea housing is not free in India, not provided by the system :
Do such artificial tragedies happen in North Korea ? This is just one comparison between North Korea and India.

Jamahir sb,

We know what happens in India. We will never know what happens in NoKo until the whole edifice will crumble.

No, many Indians like my brother don't really know what happens in India and sadly nor they care, they just carry on with their "busy" WFH life, yet they throw insults at a revolutionary society like North Korea where housing is free, healthcare is free, education is free and so on. Why should North Korea's edifice crumble ? Why can't Indians, Pakistanis and Bangladeshis look at their irrational, chaotic, crime-ridden and disharmonious societies and then look at the welfare-based North Korea and its organized and clean streets and think of emulating it ? What's the problem in making housing, basic food, water, electricity, telecom, healthcare, education etc free in India ? What is the problem ? Who is holding the government back ? What has so-called democratic India achieved really for many of its citizens in its 75 years of existence except for tragedy and oppression ?

@Bilal9

Bilal bhai,

So - he is Hindu?

Dont know. Dont care. But can't we refer to Bong Muslims as Dada?

Regards

Bangladeshi Muslims don't appreciate being called "Bongs" or being called "Dada" (WB Hindu brothers can be called both names, as it is the usual style over in WB and in general - India). These terms are India specific usually.

You call Bangladeshi Muslim males "bhai" or "Bhaisaab" (if a bit older).

You can call Bangladeshi Hindu males "Dada" which is fine. Or "Babu"/"Babumoshai" if a bit older.

In a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal two days ago, Ambassador Peter de Haas reiterated his country's commitment to global democracy.
Why would a diplomat meet chief of EC? This is so bizarre.

Won't work. It's not about Hasina's ability to hold on to power.

India won't let that happen. They have an interest in not allowing US influence or a military base in BD. US will also not displease India in this regard, even if they want to they don't have enough ability to do so in BD. The paradigm is not the same as Pakistan, it's different here.

@UKBengali What is your understanding?

US would literally have to start a total economic war on BD in order to have a chance to remove Hasina.

They are not stupid and won't escalate to this level just because Hasina wants to keep neutral on major world affairs. For US it would be a "nice to have" but not a critical thing for them.

Like I have said before, India now has a strategic interest in Hasina/AL staying in power as BD has helped stablise the NE and both countries are working on creating mutually complementary economies in the NE region with Nepal and Bhutan.

BD has not gone anywhere near the threshold where the US would think about an Iranian-style economic war against it.

.
Bangladeshis need no schooling from US on democracy or elections for they know their problems and how to solve them.

All the best to my Bangladeshi brothers from my side.
Is it because America does not pay you many billions after you failed to pay back the $32 billion you loaned from it? Now, the grapes are sour.

But, how about getting some democratic knowledge from England? Click the link below and you will see your IK and the UK's Borris Johnson are faced with a similar problem. So, IK's is not unique. Learn democracy.

.
However after resignation of Boris Johnson , I hope you realized that you and your allies are no longer in commanding position! :omghaha:

Did BD discover some oil reserves? :what:
No Bangladesh got China and Russia!

A beard and burqa Color Revolution coming soon to a Dhaka street near you.
@jamahir , I believe such revolution will be failed! Bangladesh will stick on her decision , will side sino Russia instead of uncle Sam who is no longer global leader!

.
Like in Pakistan looool
Well India is working against Hasina ( it's unpopular opinion though) , but Hasina is already is sino Russian side!

So surely if Hasina want to contest in next election, no regime change!
