I have met the gentleman in question. Intellectual level, no doubt high and he is articulate and his demeanor is unlike that of a typical general. But being a spy master he should have been careful. What he said or did not say, his engagement with the Indians in the end became an embarrassment to say the least for GoP. One expected more from a person of his caliber and position.

As far as his eagerness to come into the limelight... I stick to my claim

absolutely true

there is that self satisfaction basking in the praise . its an insatiable trait in some people who want to be acknowledged and admired and remaining in limelight is the means to it
