The Secret Weapon of India : 2012

India's demographics can either be a HUGE advantage or a massive bane depending on how certain policies and certain factors. Right now it seems these demographics could pay out for India but the GoI needs to be careful in exploiting this potential, if left unchecked the demographics could rip India apart.

Time will tell.

One priority needs to be education- GoI needs to spends 100s of Billions on education in the next 10 years otherwise India is in trouble.

I agree.

But your Education is not even top 200 in the world. So Indian workforce quality can be questioned.

Do not believe the stats of western agencies some are manipulated in their favor. IIT's and IIM's are rated best and there are some research facilities (which also train students)getting established which work closely with India's premier technical organizations. In future I hope Agencies like ISRO,DRDO,HAL,NAL,BARC and other premier scientific agencies will get some good quality people. In addition India had some scientific agreements with countries like Israel which will also help us in the field of research.

Ok, now we need serious reforms in manufacturing sectors. Having poverty in society is not bad, but having poor jobless people is a grave threat to societal balance. And service sector and agriculture based industry can't sustain the demands of a huge pool of skilled or semi-skilled population's requirement for jobs. It has to be manufacturing.

Whats the point of this big workforce when most just go abroad to live?

Indian University produce more than 2 lakh IT engg every year. so India can not provide job for each in India itself.

Majority are staying in India. With quantity comes competitiveness and with it comes quality.

Majority do stay in India, but the best and brightest go abroad. As a result, they are producing for other countries while the ones behind mainly produce poverty and crime. This is the brain drain that prevents India from growing its economy and must be factoring in for making prediction. Otherwise, the predictions would be disappointing, such as from this article.

Unfortunately for you and India, many Indians are proud of their country skip the manufacturing based economy and go directly to an industrial service based economy.

Refer to my earlier post:

Your information is out of date.

There are 196 countries. And I said countries, not nation states. Vatican city may be a nation state, but not a country.

Did you happen to read the article? Did it say what you said, that people who don't have food should eat rats?

There is no universal agreement on the number of "countries" in the world, since a number of states have disputed sovereignty status. There are 204 total states, with 193 states participating in the United Nations and 13 states whose sovereignty status are disputed. The newest state is South Sudan

Can you define the officially concluded verdict between the designation/character of Country and a nation state?
You will find NONE.
