The relationship between the U.S. and Pakistan heading in the right direction

As everyone here has bad view about US(including myself at some extend). but the thing is that US is really bad or just we are perceiving it.. to judge the US we should have to look at the history. After the Creation of Pakistan and India, India chose to stay away from any power and found NAM. but Pakistan chose to side with US because they were ready to us Money and Weapons. As usual nothing is free and US demand Airbases to monitor USSR and then Prime Minister Liaquat Ali Khan refuse to give access to the Airbases and then US come with Plan to kill then PM and they did it with the help of Pakistani establishment(some of them) and some civilians. and after that US get access to that airbases and Army and Govt: get Money and Weapons. In 1971 war it was truely US which save West Pakistan during 71 war. and after that war ZAB came in Power and refuse US's Order and what was good for Country but at the End who Kill Bhutto, they were Pakistani. and in 80's During Afghan war who even give access to Israel in Pakistan, they were Pakistani. From all around the world people came in Pakistan to fight in Afghanistan and who give them access and Training in Pakistan they were Pakistani. and who work as the proxy of US in Afghanistan in 80's and 90's, they were Pakistani. and in 2001 who came to his knees in front of the US, they were Pakistani. who give them airbases, they were Pakistani. who give them to fly Drones and fighter Planes in Pakistani territory, they were Pakistani. who give the Pakistani citizens to US for the Money, they were Pakistani.
So, First we should look at our own. and then Criticize others.

Pakistani establishment(some of them) and some civilians

Afghanistan government and their people.

While we have always been our own worst enemy, US has terrorized Pakistan the most.
They waged a war against Pakistan from Afghanistan and sponsored terrorism in our land.

They are not trust-able people. They have killed every single great leader of Pakistan.

and what about those officers who shoot down that Afghani and became rich and they built their own factories..

@CENTCOM
Our alliance goes back to 1950's. Pakistan is a Major Non-Nato Ally. I think it is in interest of both countries to work together towards mutual goals like improving education sector, development of infrastructure etc in Pakistan.
Pakistan is hopeful that USA will not forget its commitment to the welfare of the Pakistani people even with a change of geopolitical situation.

There's a difference between mutual alliance, and prostitution.

Also wasn't it ZAB, who lost the elections, told every politician that did win a seat that if they hold Parliament in Dhaka they are traitors? Hence, officially fueling the fires of Bangali Liberation.

what did you call this relation?

Also wasn't it ZAB, who lost the elections, told every politician that did win a seat that if they hold Parliament in Dhaka they are traitors? Hence, officially fueling the fires of Bangali Liberation.

Elaborate please.
sorry light chaly gaye thai.. abhy nend aa rahy hai kal elaborate kar k bataonga..

They are not trust-able people. They have killed every single great leader of Pakistan.
Apne hai gera te hai nasheman pe bijlya..

The only way now US have is to make big investments in Pakistan and one field is built big dams in Pakistan and give more economic freedom to Pakistan in US otherwise China already plan and soon US will loose its grip in Pakistan because now Pakistani's is looking friendship based on investment which China bring.

Good question.
  1. Increase more educational programs.
  2. Must built atleast two US universities in cities like Karachi & Lahore with minimum fee.
  3. Increase Investment in right areas, like we need electricity, trained manpower, technical staff and others.
  4. Most important is to make an educational aid and give our universities a billion dollar aid per year (as we all knows that all US Aid goes in our corrupt politicians pockets) and that make a good impact in our educated class and once middle class accept that it will give US a very positive response.
  5. Made one big dam so electricity and water problem will be resolved and we all know that US really helping us.

USA has provided a lot of help (money and material) for the Pakistani military and pakistani civillian government.
if all that help could not stem anti-Americanism I do not know what will

Ofc not out of pure goodness of heart, how can you even ignore the heavy strings it comes with

it was obviously transactional - the pakistani civillian and military elite had the choice of going along or not

The U.S. and Pakistan continue to build on their improving relationship and both share a common stance against terrorism. It is important for our officials to meet regularly and address any shared concerns and to prevent any issues from arising.

Several steps have been taken to further enhance our association. For example: our senior officials met in Islamabad last month to discuss trade promotion efforts, entrepreneurship, diversification of agriculture, intellectual property rights, and initiatives to boost investment under the bilateral Joint Action Plan, a plan created by President Obama and Prime Minister Sharif in 2013 to boost two-way trade and investment. What other steps do you think should be taken to further improve our relationship?

China factor?

Hi,
As you mentioned it was transactional and there were ofc high (cold-war) and lows (sanctions) of relationship.
hence you will always have the feeling of resentment

Pakistan must maintain robust and close relationship with the US. China is Pakistan's time tested true friend but then relationships should not be mutually exclusive. As good as our relationship is with China , we must continue to strive for improved relationship all other countries, especially prosperous countries like the US and the European countries.

Here is a list of areas where I would like to see an improved relations with the US.

1. Education Sector. We could use more help in Education. More Scholarships and greater opportunities for Pakistani students to get Post Graduate education in the US. I would also like to see more US University campuses in Pakistan. In my humble opinion, to some extent US has an obligation towards Pakistan as it is a beneficiary of Pakistani Professionals who migrate to the US and serve US economy and US becomes the ultimate beneficiary of this " Brain Drain ".

2. Trade and Investments. I would like to see more Joint Ventures established between Pakistani and US Investors in areas of Manufacturing, Agriculture, Healthcare etc.

3. Infrastructure Development. The US could be an immense help in improving the infrastructure of Pakistan by building Power Plants, Hydro Dams, Solar and Wind energy Projects etc.

4. Cultural Exchange between Pakistan and the US could help eradicate a lot of misunderstandings between our People and our two Nations.

Very pragmatic and sensible considering your fellow countrymen are labeling the US the evil incarnate.

The points you mentioned are all areas where US would be of great help to Pakistan.
Could you also enumerate some unique advantages that US would gain from partnering with Pakistan?
