The Pentagon Plan to ‘Divide and Rule’ the Muslim World

The US's only ally in the ME is Israel. All the others hate the US. I have a friend who's a military officer in the UAE air force and he curses the US all the time, covertly of course.

Sunni vs. Shiia......Sunni vs. Christian......Druze vs. Maronite.....Kurd vs. Arab.....Turk vs. Kurd. East vs. West (in the case of Libya)...the british knew early on how to exploit fault lines. The certain policy circles in the west have mastered it.

shame on the Muslim world for falling into the traps all the time....
The region was mostly stable when British backed monarchs were in charge. It started to go wrong when you had coups in Egypt, Libya and Iraq which put Soviet backed tyrants in power. Then there was the Iranian revolution.
It is pretty obvious that, apart from Tunisia, the monarchial states in the region are the best run.

Turkey used to be a genuine ally before Erdogan.

Why do I get a "negative" rating for telling the truth? What happened to free speech?

Freedom of speech still exists. You made your comment, it wasn't very qualitative or intelligent and now you deal with the consequences. Freedom of Speech isn't Freedom of Consequence. Seriously? Calling every Muslim person stupid?

"Most Muslims are too dumb to understand this though, including all of you posting here."

Yup, definitely not a biased point of view and hardly ignorant eithero_O. Why don't you try asking a few Muslims what they think, rather than painting them with a single brush? You'll find many of them are very intelligence people.

You think free speech means everyone agreeing with you?

I don't think he knows what Freedom of Speech is. It's never been Freedom from Consequence, he hasn't been censored, just reprimanded for his intolerance and ignorance.

:cuckoo:

certainly a very happening region!

The Pentagon and Israelis simply capitalize on the deep sectarian division already there. Also helps that many of these countries are run by corrupt puppet dictatorships or monarchies.

Foreign relations aren't about liking and hating, they are about national interests. Whether folks like or don't like [insert country name here] is irrelevant.

Dont blame the US for your stupidity.
.... and vice- versa if I may add ;-)

U.S. and Jordan have been close for over four decades.

Following the peace treaty with Israel, between 1979 and 2003, the U.S. has provided Egypt with about $19 billion in military aid, making Egypt the second largest non-NATO recipient of U.S. military aid after Israel. Also, Egypt received about $30 billion in economic aid within the same time frame. In 1989 both Egypt and Israel became a major non-nato ally of the United States. In November 2012, Barack Obama — for the first time since Egypt signed the peace treaty with Israel — declared that the United States does not consider Egypt's Islamist-led government an ally or an enemy. In a 2014 news story, the BBC reported: "The US has revealed it has released $575m (£338m) in military aid to Egypt that had been frozen since the ousting of President Mohammed Morsi last year.". That should tell you something.

This division goes back around 100-200 years. just look at the map of Middle East, it was drawn by racist colonists on a map with a ruler and a pencil. USA is just capitalising on that, yes there are differences between Shia and Sunnis but it was never that serious. USA, UK, Israel, France and Russia just makes money from blood of Muslims. They all support different sides to flame the conflict further.
