The New Pakistan US Relationship (After the Salala Check-Post Attack)

Let's wait for Pakistan official to deny this article rumors.

Yea they will deny. Then nothing happens for about two more weeks, and then all of sudden we're stuck in these perpetual web of lies once again.

Yea they will deny. Then nothing happens for about two more weeks, and then all of sudden we're stuck in these perpetual web of lies once again.

It is very peaceful more than one month since Nov 26 without drones attacks and supply. Pakistan government, Chief Kiyani, and ISI are denying in the public but behind curtains, they are secretly dealing with US to lower tensions in Qatar. Damn biggest hyprocisy. I expect this year would be a great year for Pakistan.

Let's see supply begin, drones attack begin, KFC chicken starting......There is new conditions agreements.

Officials said the resumption of drone strikes might be under new conditions. They added that Pakistani negotiators had convinced their American counterparts on at least a couple of conditions: First, the drone strikes should not be as frequent as they were in 2010 and 2011. And second, the CIA should narrow the stripe the aircraft were targeting under the approach known as ‘box formation’ in military terms.

About the box approach, he added that the areas the Pakistani military had already claimed to have cleared must not be hit. “We want them to be within a smaller radius,” the official explained.

Kiyani will tell their soldiers to return their SAMs or shoulder missiles for shooting down helicopters or drones after new conditions agreements......

I post previously thread- http://www.defence.pk/forums/curren...e-strikes-pak-us-ties-plunge.html#post2463214

I am hoping, Pakistan officials will reject this article baseless rumors next few days.

this is a let down & can further aggravate the people's sentiments this news along with musharraf's comeback is not good for the army's image because it took a'lot of hard work to regain the army's prestige back in the people's confidence i will go with asim here this would be betraying the lives lost by the Pakistan's people's as well as the 26 soldiers who embraced shahadat on 26/11

This will show where our army stands it took a while for the image of the army to return kiyani will literally shove it down the gutter if he agreed to this.... people have high hopes with the army and are applauding the army for the bloackade.... say no to the drone strikes and open supply if we must on very heavy conditions lets see what the army does

Pakistan sets new conditions to resume cooperation with US - YouTube

According to this report, Pakistan has devised conditions for the resumption of cooperation with United States which include

1 - An end to drone strikes on the tribal areas and anywhere else in Pakistan
2 - Guarantee not to violate Pakistan's borders
3 - Civil Nuclear Deal
4 - Greater access of Pakistani goods to US and European Markets

Closure of drones and respect of Pakistani borders are of course so obvious ones but other two points are crucial and extremely important to Pakistan. USA can afford to offer point 1,2 and 4 but for the point no. 3, they might not be willing that easily.

BUT if they are not willing.. let them face Taliban and enjoy their "Afghan Trip". Anti-american sentiments are extremely high at the moment and if anybody tried to open supply routes without taking Nation into confidence, they are gona repent.

Holy crap, hope Pakistan will keep it's poker face.

This is how you play smart.

you might get the first 2 but not the 3rd and no one in the world wants to buy Pakistani goods

BTW NATO has other supply lines from the north that will come online soon

WRONG. They were begging us to open the lines a few days ago.

lol yeah right.... Pakistan needs the US more than the US needs Pakistan, thats the reason why despite so large public resentment towards the US the government is still willing to open supply lines...

Any other supply routine from the north is at-least 4 times more expensive and several times more prone to strikes as those supply routes pass through areas under complete Taliban Control. Also northern routines are not all-weather routes. PLUS US is not ready to offer any leverage to Russia with Missile Defence Shield issue and Russians won't allow such passage without getting their "stake" out of it.

Other Option is Iran.. USA can get supplies through Iran for sure but you know its Iran.

If USA had option to use other supply routes, they would've been more out of mind towards Pakistan than they currently show they are. Pakistan doesn't fit in the US ambitions in Afghanistan and only reason they have been "tolerating" us is their supply routes.
