The Need for Greater Pakistan

The time for a similar intervention was after the soviets left afghanistan where we could have done away with wakhan corridor by absorbing nooristan province of Afghanistan. A tribal jirga or a grand jirga of the area wud have been sufficient juatification. That area can be beneficial to pakistan.
No other part of afghanistan is worth the hassel, not even the pakhtoon dominated areas of southern afghanistan.
Absorbing / conquering Sistan or anyother territory or iran is like playing with fire. Iranians are like a hornets nest.. U better leave them alone or dont stir them... We need not be afraid of iran but had it not been usa and west screwing iran, it would have made our life and life in GCC much more complicated and difficult via its proxy war.
The house of saud esp the last king of ksa and the ayatullahs of iran have already sponsored and fueled the seeds of sectarian violence and intolerance in pakistan. We should not make it an open war.

It gives us access to new markets, and gives them access to a warm water port. It creates our own silk route, a Pakistani version of the Chinese belt and road policy.

You have access to 200 countries in the world and you come up with piss poor economic performance. What is three more Central Asian Republics going to do ? You get access only to Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan - two of which are impoverished states

You lack the capital to develop the infrastructure for your own silk route. You do not have the money to develop Pakistan proper. you rely on foreign capital for everything.

This is so autistic, NATO will not just let us invade Afghanistan and take the Wakan Corridor since the NA is a pretty major NATO ally.

As for Iran, you assume the locals would take kindly to our occupation, which they wouldn't.

There is a mind that is well ingrained due to 200 years of colonial rule. This mind says:
"NATO will not let us..."

But we have to think bigger than this mind. What is NATO? What power does it have in Afghanistan? the "White man won't let us" needs to end and will end as new generations are born that can see further than this.

Do you think Sunnis are happy in Iran? I would suggest you speak to a few. In fact, before such an enterprise is taken up, a thorough study and intelligence operation would prelude such a takeover.

There will always be nay sayers. Particularly ones with ad hominems and two liner arguments. But we have to look beyond them.

How about the need for greater or better Pakistanis?
So far they are generally a negative influence on the current land they occupy.

We are assuming Imran Khan turns the page of that. Without which nothing is possible. Pakistan's very existence will be in peril if PPP or PMLN shows up again. We are assuming in 2 years Pakistan will be a stable economy and by then this scenario could come in play.

Only Wakhan corridor is of strategic importance to Pakistan which Pakistan doesn't have at the moment because British donated this strip to Afghanistan to avoid having a direct border between Russian Empire and British Indian Empire at that time, the Wakhan corridor/strip truly belongs to Pakistan, it looks unnatural on the map being part of Afghanistan and separating a direct border between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

Yes, simply our past leaders could not see the importance of taking this corridor. For so long. Its just sitting there to be taken. It should be part of a new province- Gilgit-Baltistan or simply Gilgit. While Azad Kashmir should be a separate province. If you split Punjab into two, and Balochistan into (Mekran being one), and Sindh into 2, you'd have a far more administratively efficient provincial organization.

In the greater scheme of things, if we manage what we are wanting, we'd end up with a new tribal belt adjacent to our borders in Afghanistan, and two new provinces in Sistan-Baluchestan. This would bring Pakistan to 12 provinces and a tribal area. A far more viable state of affairs than the present scenario. Population wise, we are only bringing in about 2 million new citizens.

easily said then done...

To protect Gilgit Baltistan, we need to relocate at least 5 million patriotic Pakistani to these areas.

2 million from North Punjab
1 million from South Punjab
1 million from KPK
1 million from Sindh (Sindhi, Balochi and Urdu speaking)

Gilgit Baltistan need at least 5 billion dollar investment.

Something has to be done with Balochistan. We need to establish small cities and best option to move capital to Khuzdar.

If the Afghans declare war on us formally...Annex the whole damn country as far as I'm concerned....we will not initiate anything.

We stand with KSA, we should render all defensive support possible. If Iran attacks us, then advance to Iraq...for the amount of blood that will be lost... at least we should get some Hydro carbons. We will not initiate or be the aggressor.

No fantasies... please.

The terrain favors such a takeover. If you look at the maps of Sistan-Baluchestan, it is arid, desert area that would make penetration by Iran difficult, with PAF providing top cover. This topographic context would help annex the territory and keep it separate.
What you want to gain from annexing that barren land known as Sistan-Baluchistan?

Wow cool so now we are talking about attacking Iran, attacking Afghanistan and talking over those Muslim territories. What happened to peaceful merger like United based on common grounds, islam? We became so much unacceptable in our neighborhood?

We are loosing morality day by day. No doubt Pakistan is falling and Allah is not helping us to standup back.
Bahi OP boor hou raha thaa,so thread post kiya.

This is not a colonial mentality, it is called realism.

What is NATO? What power does it have in Afghanistan?

They can go to Afghanistan and beat the crap out of our armed forces, permanently removing our occupation via their vastly superior Air Force. They could also launch air strikes in Pakistan itself, and place even more sanctions to harm our economy.

The best thing to do is wait for the Taliban to take control (which will happen eventually), and then organise some sort of deal. They are not as hostile to Pakistan as the NA is.

Do you think Sunnis are happy in Iran?

They certainly won't appreciate a Pakistani occupation, I can tell you that much.

Interesting etymology here for ‘Sistan.’ It comes from Seistan which in turn is from Sakastan, the territory of the Sakas/Scythians when they ruled Pakistan-Afghanistan after defeating the Greco-Bactrians around 1 BC.

Iran temporarily occupied Sakastan and Balochistan, and when Iran contracted again, the territories moved West, away from their namesake.

The same happened with Khorasaan, whose heartland is Afghanistan but it also includes Pakistan and Eastern Iran.
