Christian churches there are well older than the religion of Islam.

By the way most first followers of Islam were either Christians or Jews, or pagans, so how can you claim that people originating from there took something that belonged to Europeans, While everyone knows that the crusades were politically and economically motivated, and mostly for stopping the endless Christian bloody infightings that went on for centuries in Europe.Their looting of churches (that were left alone with their immense wealth by the Muslims) says a lot about their blood thirsty "faith".
