I'm a civil engg.
I had to learn AutoCAD as a subject in college, now I am in love with all the autodesk softwares (except Maya which is used for animation).

Your article is very informative. Thank you for sharing.
For autocad i say when i was in my first semester BS Electrical Engineering we have a dedicated course work named Engineering drawing and we use Autocad software for lab work. I tried to draw H&K G3 rifle but failed badly.
My favorite subjects are aerospace sensors, Radars and Navigation Aids.
